Late on interview.

Nurses General Nursing

I had opportunity to have a interview as clinical supervisor in a urgent under hospital. I had my first interview maybe couple weeks ago and it was extensive and 1 hour long. The nurse manager said I should wait a week if I'm going to do the 2nd (interview with the staff) 3rd (supervisor, department heads) and 4th interview (medical director) to them. After 2 days they called me already and schedule me for coming 2nd 3rd and 4th interview to them which he said that he liked me and I'm good int he position.

Day of 2nd interview today, I got LATE FOR 2 minutes??? I called them that I can't find any parking. But before I go inside the office, the manager said sorry and I can't do the interview anymore :(

My question is, should I still go next week for my final interview to them? Or should I consider that I messep up already? :(

I feel so bad I feel like I upset them which is I know they did. Should I still email the manager if I'm still consider to the position? Or I'm technically out for the position?

It's better to be safe than sorry. And if you arrive, you can walk around local stores to calm the nerves. Good luck!!!

That's so true. So nervous! I'm definitely leaving as early as necessary, I don't want to chance anything since it's my first interview in a while!

When I worked staff development if I came out of my office and called your name you weren't hired if you weren't there. An interview is supposed to be your best foot forward. If you show up late, in wrinkled scrubs, with orange hair what will you be like after probation ?

While none of this happened to me on my first interview for a nursing job, I did fall asleep during my interview.

I was at the end of my senior year, and was doing my night shift rotation. My interview was right after clinical. Since I was a student, I didn't have any experience working nights. Things were OK at first, but as the interview went on, I struggled to keep my eyes open. The nurse manager stepped out of the office for a few minutes and walked in just as my head was about to hit the table.

She was very kind and laughed about it. I got the job.

It won't let me quote you @Lev (I'm on the app). I'm trying to decide between leaving 30-1 hour early. I just want to make sure I'm there early.

If I were you, I would leave an hour early. Anything could happen. We recently had a truck hauling pigs overturn, spilling the pigs out onto the road.

No one expects to run into a pig rodeo on the way to an interview.

Thanks! This is why I'm *so* thankful for this website. :)

Is it wrong to send this?

Yes, because of the overly florid language and usage errors.

Because I'm feeling charitable, I have rewritten it for you to be more professional. I have to warn you, though, that if your original post and your note to the manager was characteristic of your writing, you wouldn't be getting a supervisor job anyway. Please consider how important good English usage is, and consider a remedial writing/ESL class to polish your skills. Also, you'd better hope that nobody on that panel is here to read my words and recognize them from your letter. :)

I would like to say that I am truly sorry for being late this morning and disturbing the interview panel's schedule. I hope this misfortune has not affected my opportunity to work with ABC hospital. Please accept my apology for my actions and convey them to the rest of the interview panel as well.

Please let me know if I may still be considered for my scheduled interview next week so that I can impress the panel with my commitment to ABC Hospital. Thank you for the your time and consideration, and I look forward to hearing from you.

You HAVE to live in Ohio! That just happened a month or two ago here. Hundreds of piglets!

Mmm, fresh bacon. ;) That's hilarious. I wish turkeys would run out onto my road. I like turkey for dinner.

Give yourself that extra hour. Sit in your car and eat some peanut butter crackers and some water. Make sure you pee once you get in the building. Hopefully this sill mitigate any blood sugar drop or you doing the pee-pee dance in your seat.

Nope! Apparently, pig rodeos on highways aren't that uncommon.

I live near Philly.

And brush your teeth when you make that pit stop. You don't want peanut butter breath during your interview.

I know this is off-topic, but an 'urgent under hospital'? Urgent care?
