A whole lot of us are starting on Monday. So, what's everyone doing this last free weekend before our lives are not our own?
I'm trying desperately to get my house clean; cleaning out closets, drawers, cupboards, the fridge, and trying to get my son ready for school because he starts 3 days later than me. I'm also going to lots of baseball games because I won't be doing that anymore.
Classes for us start Tuesday, but I plan of cleaning and trying to schedule dental appointments for my girls while DH is on leave for a week. I will also be making a bunch of casseroles and planning dinners in the crockpot for our really busy days. I still plan on attending Friday night football games, Saturday cross-country meets and a few of the band competitions. I am super excited to be going back!!

This was suppose to be a free weekend for me also but we had orientation on thursday and was assigned four chapters of reading. I was all prepared to had to some where this weekend. But dont get me wrong I am happy to know where we are starting. This monday has seemed far away for so long I can not believe it is so close:) Starting to feel real!!!
I seem to have been "organizing" for the past month only to have an even messier house. . I'm super excited to start the process of school but definitely a bit sad that time will be so tight for the next two years. I spent all day with my daughter. Tomorrow I'll try to actually read because I have two leisure books that need to be finished!
Ready or not, here we all go!
My school had us do this pre-nursing school boot camp thing and one of the activities we had to do was create a 7-day planner. By doing that I was able to schedule plenty of time to be with family and friends while still having plenty of time to study. I don't think you have to give up your whole life to be a nursing student.
We didn't have to do a boot camp, but our advisors and nursing instructors all told us at orientation that one of the keys to making it through without going completely mad is to schedule a few hours each week for yourself our for you and your significant other. One instructor even told us that she requires we do this!
I went out with my husband tonight. We went to check out the new casino in town (I've never been in one) and have dinner there with the adults in the family. Needless to say, I allowed myself $10.00 to have some fun and lost it all in the slots! HA! Now tomorrow I will be scrubbing my house for one last time till the end of this semester. I told the kids they were responsible for keeping up on their chores and making sure their own laundry was in the basket so it is there when I go to do laundry on my study breaks.
My school starts next week too, but this weekend won't be a "free" one; my free days are over .... already! The Syllabi and Calendars have just been posted and not only is there a ton of stuff that will be due on Day 1, the minute we walk in the door, but quizzes over material, as well ... on the first day. When I'm in school, I'm 110% in - I eat, sleep, and breathe every bit of it, and I am an A student. But when I'm off, I want to be off - Nursing School is SO incredibly stressful that I need to recharge in my off time - not to mention the fact that I need to get done all of the stuff on my List that gets ignored when school is in session because I'm doing nothing else besides school work. I get annoyed that my last week of free time gets hijacked before the semesters even officially begin! I know I will probably be criticized by some of you for saying this (and that's okay), but am I the only one who feels this way??
We just moved not even a month ago, so I've spent the last couple of weeks trying to get my house organized as much as possible before I start school. Luckily in this house, I have my own study room. I also have an enclosed front porch where I've set up a table. I'm sitting out here now :)
Well, in 12 hours I will be heading off to school. I spent my entire day at my son's double header baseball game followed by his pizza party. I didn't get anything accomplished, including the reading I had hoped. But, instead of worrying about it, I'm making my hubby take me out to dinner, and then, I'm going to bed.
Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow. Good luck to you all.

I am cleaning, cleaning, and organizing. It just kind of hit me how close it is. I still have to get my texts for this semester and get all of my sons school supplies too. Not ready to go back but I am very excited to finish my last 2 semesters :)
