I know there are some other LCC people out here somewhere! Anyone applying for 2012 admission?
I just applied for 2 year, 3 year and 2nd Degree programs today. Cast a wide net and see what you catch theory there!
I am estimating my point totals for 2 year and 3 year at 68-69 and 2nd Degree at 58-59.
Good luck to everyone who has worked so hard to get this far! May we all keep our sanity while we wait on letters...
Got mine today! I was accepted to the 2 year program with a Spring start. I kinda would rather have the fall but I'm not going to be upset about it at all - I'm definitely going to be a nurse!!!!!! Horray!!!!I still get to wait until July to find out about the 2nd Degree Accelerated program but I am soooo relieved that this wait is over!
Good luck to everyone still waiting!
Yay!!! That's wonderful news!!! Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!! :w00t:
I hate the feeling that points can scatter all over between different semesters- depending on the points of the pool of applicants. HATE IT. but love it at the same time!
I know what you mean! I get worried that the next round of applicants is going to have an extraordinarily high number of points because they've been doing volunteer work or working full/part time in the medical field while doing their pre-reqs for the past 2 years and they have a massive amount of points. YIKES!
Well, on grades, pre/co-req bonus, Micro Lab bonus & Phlebotomy bonus alone, I should have 142 points. If I do enough volunteer hours and part-time work, I should be in the 150s by the time I apply in Jan. for the March 1st deadline. Hoping & praying this will be enough points to get in! I don't want to have to wait another year!!! I may end up biting the tuition bullet and apply at MSU's nursing school. I know I could get in there, but the tuition is SOOOOO expensive. I'd rather go to LCC. Their program is so highly regarded and you can't beat the cost
I have no idea. Im sure that they will give us the dates and tell us what books we need and all that jazz at the meeting. I feel a little lost already because I dont know what to expect and I have no idea what Im going to do daycare wise for my son.lol. Im already freaking out. Im sure once we get used to the schedule it wont be that bad. Can I ask what area you are from? We may as well introduce ourselves since we will probably be in class together at some point. Im Shannon ;-)
Had a chat with my pre-nursing advisor yesterday and she confirmed the points cut-off for the 2 year program was 141 points. Whew! I feel so much better now!!!
If I keep my GPA where it's at and finish my phlebotomy certification, I'll have 142 points. I'm also going to do some volunteer work and try to add an extra 6 to 10 points on top of that. I feel much better about applying next January for the March 2013 deadline.
I wish they did acceptance twice a year instead of once a year!!!
Congratulations, tortor09! Are you in the Fall or Spring cohort?
Geeheeb, this year's points cut off was 141 points (according to the nursing academic advisor). If you don't have volunteer or work experience hours, it would be pretty hard to get enough points just on grades/courses alone.
Geeheeb- I only had 6 months to a year FT work and also 1 year PT work. I did bust my butt getting the volunteer hours though... I had about 515+ hours!! It's all based on points, so if you don't work, but volunteer... and get fabulous grades. There's a chance.. but if you really want to get a seat, do EVERYTHING you can.
SopranoKris- I got a Fall seat :)
