Langara September 2020 Intake

Nursing Students School Programs

Updated:   Published

Hi Langara hopefuls!

I know it's early, but I wanted to start a thread for September 2020 intake because I'm currently ramping up to apply and getting excited!

I'm taking A+P at the moment, and will be taking 3 other prereqs in the fall at TRU. I have a couple of college certs, some uni credits, but no degree yet.

Anyone else out there prepping and getting ansy?

YES! Thank you for starting this thread hahah

I have been waiting forever to be able to participate in this! I am currently finishing up bio 1191 and eng 1129 at langara and will be applying once registration starts in October! So excited but so nervous!!

Oh Langara 1191.. how are you finding it??

It's tough! Lots to memorize and processes of lots of things. Can't wait to be done!

I bet! Yeah I’m about halfway though the 1st A+P and I feel like I have little room for any other mentally demanding thing!

I’ve heard the 2nd A+P is a bit more rewarding after all the cell and tissue and Chemistry heavy bits. Are you enjoying it more than the first?

Ps. Thanks for replying! It’s nice to share the nervous energy.

I just remind myself that it's about to get so much worse (patho) so to push through! Haha it has been interesting though.

And of course! Can't wait to begin the process! I wish it wasn't so far away lol

Yeah no kidding! Especially for you since you’re almost done biol! ??

I’m sure this year will pass quickly though. You’ll (we’ll) be in those patho classes in no time. ?

Hi all! I’ve been hearing that the September nursing intakes tend to be more competitive (I.e higher GPA) than January intakes. Does anyone know if this is accurate??

Feeling stressed already for the applications ?

Well I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that more people apply in September! I personally went and looked at last September's allnurses forum and people were waitlisted with GPAs 3.5ish and those accepted usually had previous degrees or GPAs above 3.6.. It really just depends on the amount of people applying and what GPA they so happen to apply with, not so much what intake it is. This past January intake, the average acceptance GPA was 3.6 according to langara's site.

I'm stressed too! But can't wait for applications to open!

Hello all,

Just was wondering, does anyone know how many students they accept per semester?

I feel like this info used to be available.. I've definitely seen it in the past but cant seem to find it now! I believe the number is between 60-70... And 5 seats are reserved for indigenous students

APPLICATIONS OPEN TODAY! and yes, I am that keener student that applies the first day ? (even though it's not first come first serve). Too much excitement
