  1. For those who got accepted, how do you know if BCIT has received your commitment fee??
  2. Were you able to work a part-time job while being in school? (<16 hours/week)
  3. Which program is better? I’ve heard that BCIT’s program has changed recently and isn’t as intense as before.. I’d love to hear some experiences as well as opinions on each school!
  4. Hi! I applied to Langara Sept 2022 and will be applying to BCIT Sept 2022 admission and this will be my first time applying to both nursing programs. I’m currently finishing my BSc. undergrad at UBC and will have completed over 130 credits by this upcoming April. My cGPA isn’t that good due to my second year being rough and therefore it’s sitting at a 3.1/4.33 not including the last 4 courses that I’m currently enrolled in. I’ve worked in the service industry for over 3+ years as a server, host and have held an admin role too. Additional experience includes volunteering in the acquarium and senior home as well as delivering nutrition workshops to grade level children. I’ve also been a part of a campus club for over 2 years now with roles in the events department as well as the community department which executes philanthropic events both on and off campus. I don’t have much experience in healthcare therefore I’m quite worried that this will set me back from other strong applicants. I also haven’t taken the CASPer assessment and will probably do that in March since I’m definitely not ready for the upcoming Feb 1st slot. GPA for Langara: 3.6 ^(92%,92%,76%,86%,68%) not sure if I calculated this right. Pre-requisite Grades for BCIT: Pre-Calc 12: 90% Chem 11: 87% ENGL requirement: 76+ (B+) Human Anatomy + Physiology requirement: 92% (A+) for 6 credit course PSYC requirement: 81% (A-) Gen ED courses: 80% (A-) , 86% (A), I have taken many other courses but they are kind of within the nursing field so I’m not sure if they can be used or not! I would love to chat more about this and hear other experiences as well!
