Lament of the White Clinical Pants

This is just a thread to lament my school's choice to have us wear white pants for clinical. I've seen other schools with all white uniforms, but thankfully we get a solid color top. However after this year my white pants have seen better days. Stained, and in a place where snow is on the ground more months then not, there is stains on the backs of the legs. I'm afraid I'm going to have to replace them for my last two semesters. Why would they choose to have us wear white, with all the blood and guts and BM we deal with?

Anyone else want to lament, or know a way to salvage my scrub pants so I don't have to buy new ones?

Our uniform is all white. I look like a marshmallow.

My uniform for CNA training was all white. Just had to stock up on skin tone undies and tanks! I never did get all the snow/mud stains out of the pants though. Finally just threw them out when I finished training.

We have all white scrubs too. I use Shout and a toothbrush when I get home on any stains I find and that has kept permanent stains at bay. It even got out an entire insulated mug of coffee that decided it wanted out of the mug and onto my pants! I have a second pair but the Shout has worked so well I haven't used them very often.

I wear nude color undies/bra and a white tank top to be modest.:o

horror of horrors, I wear granny panties because we will be asked to leave if we are caught with any other decent underwear on. :-)

LOL we were told to wear granny panties too but a few people in my class still wear thongs. luckily, my shirt is long enough that when its tucked it in covers my entire butt. i still wear nude underwear or nude lace underwear so its virtually invisible other than panty lines, which are unavoidable.

All white here, Dove professional anyone?? I hate them. So much so, I went and had a uterine ablation to cut the risk of bleeding through them! (I had menstrual issues.) Last winter break I went and used a whitener/brightener on them. While a few marks were left, they did look like new afterward. Only draw back was resewing the schools patch back on. Only a few months left & I will burn them.

I has to wear all white for my nursing assistant clinical. I'm hoping that the schools I am applying to, we get to wear like all blue or something.

I just love how they pick a ridiculous color when women still dominate the profession

We used to wear white, but when one of our higher up instructors retired, we got to change to black pants(still have to wear white tops). These were pretty nice, however, everything sticks to them and I have to have one of those lint rollers because I own very hairy dogs. This last week I blew up a NG feeding all over myself, I was very glad to have black pants on...that was very nasty!

Thankfully, my school swapped from all-white to navy tops and white bottoms a few years ago. However, when you drop a chocolate chip from your granola bar on your way to clinical and it melts on the seat of your pants, you're left with an interesting day haha

I think white is used to easily distinguish you from the crowd in emergencies or just in general. Since nurses wear all different colors, it is easiest to put you in a color not often worn by staff.

Women should not be forced to wear white pants, especially if they cannot get to the bathroom to "change" in a timely fashion.

A fellow student and I once tripped over each other. I was carrying coffee and she was carrying orange juice. We dumped the contents of our cups right onto the crotch and down the legs of our pants.

I wish I could say this happened after our clinical day, but, alas, no.

We were very embarrassed to be seen because we looked like complete slobs who had wet our pants.

Granny panties have a place... under white pants. I choose dignity over feeling "sexy"... lol.

We have all white uniforms also. I hate it. Not so worried about the whole thong issue though. I have quite heavy periods and during clinical I double up tampon/pad JUST to make sure there are no accidents. I hate how the tops are basically see though. I have a nude colored bra but it STILL shows through under our tops. I wear a tank top under my uniform top for this purpose and that sucks because I end up getting really hot. Our school changed the uniforms this semester, so the new students that started Fundamentals this semester get navy bottoms. They would not allow any other class to switch uniforms. I am so jealous LOL! I will DEF be burning these god-awful things next December :)

We wear navy blue pants and white tops. I couldn't imagine having to wear white bottoms. I have a hard enough time keeping the white top clean. EVERYTHING shows! Lol. And since the top is white we have to wear a shirt underneath...and I hate wearing layers.
