I felt the Kaplan questions were harder than the NCLEX, at least in the beginning. The questions get increasingly more difficult as you continue with correct answers. The questions I ended with on the NCLEX were much different than the beginning.
One of my first SATA questions on the NCLEX was "signs and symptoms of hypovolemia". One of the final SATA questions were the signs and symptoms of Marfan syndrome. Big difference I believe.
Passed with 75 questions.
I was scoring in the 60's, but my scores are going down - not up. I'm kinda freaking out! My exam is next week and I have a job offer hinging on it. My lowest scores are in the high fifties, but my average is only 60% right now and I'm really struggling with some of the rationales (I think they're stupid and don't really agree with them, which is frustrating). I'm running out of Qbank questions and worried I'm gonna blow this :/. So if it is like Kaplan, I might be in trouble.

I am also testing next week and have a job waiting for me, fortunately they give us a 2nd chance to pass if we don't pass the first time but I really want to succeed on the first try. Have you taken the QTrainers? I totally agree with you that some of the Kaplan q rationales are frustrating. Have you been practicing SATA from Saunders?
I have a few friends who got jobs or had offers even before they passed their NCLEX. Certain hospitals do internships the summer of junior year into senior year and externships after graduation. They basically train and keep you with a preceptor so you know the ropes before you start. This is also beneficial to the hospital because it's easier to put them through the system, the students already know the hospital, etc. It just sucks when people fail their NCLEX and have their job lined up and the hospital doesn't want to wait.

I'm one week away from my test, and my q bank scores are going down instead of up - can't figure out if it's nerves or what. I'm still doing great on the Saunders and Lippincott SATA questions I did (finished PDA and did great on it) - my question, was your NCLEX harder or easier than the Kaplan questions? Some of the rationales are really out there!
