So yesterday I'm in class and one of my classmates was doing a presentation on cirrhosis of the liver. The lady I was sitting next to decided she was hungry and pulls out a bag of almonds and starts eating them in the middle of the presentation. The room was silent except for the presenter talking so you could clearly hear her eating them. She would crinkle the bag, crunch them very loudly, smack her mouth, then when she was done, she starting obnoxiously sucking nuts out of her teeth!
I couldn't concentrate at all thanks to her eating like a goat the whole time.
I know it's a silly thing to vent about, but for person who is going to be a nurse, I don't think thats very professional behavior!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who gets annoyed with these kinds of things. I guess it's just because I'm so stressed out with all this school work but I've been on edge lately and the little things are really starting to annoy me!
Well, I'm pretty laid back and that kinda stuff makes me insane, lol. I think it's just manners people!
I can't stand people who do that either, but is it *that* serious? You're going to WISH the only thing you had to deal with are noisy eaters!
Take this incident as an experience. Next time, be ASSERTIVE. Turn to her and ask her if she could keep the distractions to a minimum. That's what I would have done.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but I wouldn't take things as personally if you want to get by in nursing. It's even something that I have had to learn. I know what you mean. Some of the people in my class make the MOST disgusting noises. Snorting, snotty noises. GROSS!!!!! I would love to say something. No class.

It's a venting thread, she is venting, it doesn't matter how dumb you might feel it to be. Everyone is different and have different things that get to them. Doesn't make them any less deserving of a vent.
