So yesterday I'm in class and one of my classmates was doing a presentation on cirrhosis of the liver. The lady I was sitting next to decided she was hungry and pulls out a bag of almonds and starts eating them in the middle of the presentation. The room was silent except for the presenter talking so you could clearly hear her eating them. She would crinkle the bag, crunch them very loudly, smack her mouth, then when she was done, she starting obnoxiously sucking nuts out of her teeth!
I couldn't concentrate at all thanks to her eating like a goat the whole time.
I know it's a silly thing to vent about, but for person who is going to be a nurse, I don't think thats very professional behavior!
Okay...*out of my system*
And how do people have the nerve to ask the teacher to repeat what they just said because they were too busy talking to catch it..........the nerve..........
I hate that, I mean when it's asked right away because they teacher is going fast and you miss something, I don't mind, often times we all were glad you asked. But when 5 mins or 10 mins later you are asking something we just went over, well PAY ATTENTION..
one of my classmates repeatedly uses chewing tobacco during class and he spits it into a nasty coke bottle. it disgusts me
Back in high school, my Driver's Ed teacher chewed tobacco & spit into a cup while he was in the car with you. He'd periodically pitch the contents of the cup out the window. This worked fairly well for him, until he tried pitching the cup contents out BEFORE rolling down the window. Messy...very messy!
LOL. Last month in Med/Surg, my classmate (and friend) was up front giving a presentation. The girl next to me started rummaging around making all kinds of racket w/her purse. This same girl has already made me mad a few times for being on facebook and texting while people were doing their presentations, but I never said anything.
At first I thought she was looking for something in her bag, but I kind of gave her a look. She didn't notice, so then the girl behind us kicked her chair. This chic with the purse had the nerve to turn and give HER a dirty look. Finally, I was just like "Are you cleaning out your purse???" in an incredulous voice. I expected her to say no, but she said "Yeah" like "What's your problem? That was it. I asked her (loudly) "Do you even know how rude and disrespectful that is?" She actually gave me that little catty growl that girls used to do when I was back in the 4th grade. I told her I couldn't believe how obnoxious she was being while someone was up front giving a presentation that they had worked really hard on. My instructor watched this whole thing, but didn't say a word.
I used to hate this girl, but honestly, ever since then, the other girls in my class have called her on her BS consistently, and she is MUCH nicer and more considerate now, and we pretty much all like her now (which was not the case back then). I truly think she was just oblivious, and now we've made her aware. Ha!
I'm glad I read this because I had no idea how my gum chewing might be bothering people. I don't think I'm noisy with it...but who knows?
Before I came to nursing school, I used to go to night classes straight from my full-time job. So I'd been at work since 8 a.m. and then would be in class from 6-9:30 p.m. The instructor realized that several of us came from our jobs and didn't mind if we brought food with us, but did ask us to be considerate and bring things that were fairly quiet and non-odorous. I usually brought yogurt with granola or something like that. Otherwise, I would never have made it through class!
However...there's a woman in my didactic classes now who comes in late EVERY day and brings several foods, all of which are in packages that cannot be opened without making noise. Rip, rip, rip...munch, munch, munch!
It's a venting thread, she is venting, it doesn't matter how dumb you might feel it to be. Everyone is different and have different things that get to them. Doesn't make them any less deserving of a vent.
I never said it was dumb. But I guess you just implied it lol. Everyone needs to vent once in a while. I have no problem with that. Vent away!

This would be an implication "You have chosen the correct title!" Really the passive-aggressive posts aren't necessary. It's obvious what you are doing in here based off your other thread that was closed and the problem you had with the OP in that thread. Now you come into her venting thread baiting. It's ironic you make a thread about how petty everyone in your class is, how beneath you, your nursing program is, you point out all the annoyances and irritations you have with all the peers in your class saying how High School they are, when at the same time you display the same behavior here on this board lately. I think in psych they called that projecting ;)
lol
Whoa, way to throw off the topic much. If the thread is at the top, or shown at bottom, I read them and reply. I didn't freak out on the OP or anyone else.
I'm allowed to have my opinion. I hope you feel better now that you have gotten your assumptions off of your chest. You're allowed to have an opinion as well.
However, you need to stick to the topic. I am not the topic. My visitor board & inbox are open should you feel the need to continue your attempt at psychoanalysis.

Whether you meant to or not, and I'm not saying that you meant to, it did seem like you came to my thread to pick another fight. your thread got closed and you got the last shot, and I could have just as easily tracked down one of your threads to continue arguing....but that wouldn't have been adult or mature of me. I'm sure you're a nice person and we all got a little heated the other night... but it did kind of seem like you came to my thread to start things up again(especially with the "appropriate title" comment). That's all Mi vida loca was trying to say

Some things can be pretty transparent lol Back to those pesky annoying things that our wonderful classmates do!
