Hello,
I just took the NCLEx exam and I am feeling really anxious and worried about te results. The exam was over after 75 questions. My question is:
Does anyone of you know how many out of the 75 can be wrong without you failing?
I am feeling so bad right now, I had quite many wrong for sure. I really studied hard for this exam and now I feel so down.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

Charlotta,
I have my fingers crossed that you passed! It seems like most people feel uneasy when they take the NCLEX.
I don't think there's a set # of questions that you can get wrong. Scoring is a bit tricky. You can read about NCLEX scoring at https://www8.pearsonvue.com/nclex/bulletin_07.pdf pages 15 & 16.
One interesting bit on there is that 15 items on the NCLEX-RN are pretest items that they're considering for future NCLEX exams and they are not weighted for the official pass or fail decision.
GOOD LUCK!

Just Relax, Take A Deep Breath And Do Something For Yourself. You Having No Doubt Been Studying Like Crazy For A Long Time, So Now It Is Time To Do Something Fun. I Can Honestly Say That I Have Never Heard Of Anyone Failing In 75 Questions Unless An Answer They Chose Would Have Killed Someone-like Giving Potassium Iv Push.
Best Of Luck To You!

the nclex is designed so that you only get 50% of the questions correct. it is the difficulty of the questions you get right, rather than the absolute number, that determines if you pass or fail.
since 15 questions are "experimental" and don't count in your score, you could quite possibly get less than half of the questions correct, and still pass.
since the passing standard in most nursing programs is somewhere around 75 or 80%, it tends to feel as though you failed the nclex, because you arn't used to getting such a high proportion of your questions wrong on a test (and passing).
i, too, got 75 questions on the nclex, and i was certain i had failed. there were just too many questions i wasn't sure about. i was wrong; i passed. so try to relax a little. true, there isn't any guarantee that you passed, but it is totally normal to feel as though you didn't pass.
(sometimes i wonder if the nclex authors have stock in the pharm company that makes xanax.)
thank you all so much for your supportive answers. I really really appreciate it. I will let you all know here how it went on Monday when I get the quick results. thank you again. and CritterLover, your comment about the Xanax is something I often wonder too. :-) have a good night everybody.

Hey I just took the nclex too, and got between 188 and 205 questions, I stopped looking at the Number and instead started sweating and losing concentration. I feel like I got the last 20 or so wrong so im guessing im a fail. But from what I hear 75 is likley to pass.
hey you all! I passed the NCLEX!! Thank you all again SO much for your support.
And to you, Sillybest maybe RN- So much good luck to you. I will be thinking about you and wishing you all the best.
