Hello,
I just got hired and have heard that Zoloft can sometimes cause a false positive for Benzo's? I find it hard to believe since their properties are different...however I have read several articles regarding this...Now I am concerned...any input would be helpful. Also I took an Ambien 4 days prior to my test...would that show up as well. Yes I understand the Half-Life concept but it is different for everyone and metabolism plays a big role and my metabolism is ZERO....LOL....kidding...(have gained a lot of weight since nursing school)...Thank you...:redbeathe

If you have a RX for both of them, you should be fine.
Yes but I did not list them on my current meds Im taking...I got the script for ambien like 2 years ago and got 30 pills....I hardly ever take them. Called the pharmacy and it was July 12 of 09....LOL...so that gives you a pretty good idea of how often I take them...:))...anyways is that too old of a prescription? I dont think it would be but thats all I have

Why didn't you list them on your meds?

Here they stopped the med lists a long time ago. Someone who bought percocet off the street could just list it as a medication they take.
OP I wouldn't worry. If you test positive, you should get a call from the test company's medical director. He will simply ask you what you take and where you got your script filled. They will contact your pharmacy just to ensure that you have a valid script. I tested positive for amphetamines because I take dexedrine for ADHD. Got a call and that was that. No problemo! :)
Because I thought that the hospital would find out and not offer me the job...

No because they no longer ask for a medication list. If they ask you why you didn't list it, just tell them you forgot to. If you have a valid script, you should be OK.

When are these ridiculous "I have a prescription for X and took it" threads going to end.

2 years out on an Ambien prescription might be scruntinized. They seem to look at narcotics by 6 months increments or such. I don't know for sure.
K...even if the script for the ambien is 2 years old? Dont even like that stuff but took 1/4th of a 10mg because I hadnt slept in 2 days due to family issues...
I am not sure if the 2 years comes into play. Maybe get another script and fill it????
