  1. Which Telemetry floor do you work on?...I know its been a year since you posted...I did registry there just this past week. One Telemetry floor was wonderful..the other was plain awful
  2. In my opinion....I would take the Med/Surg position because that is what many hospitals look for.
  3. Hello, I have only worked at a hospital for 4 months. I started in the ER and am now on Telemetry. I have been offered a job at Kindred on their Telemetry floor. My dilemma is that I am a new nurse with only 4 months experience and am concerned that if I take the Kindred job that it will not be considered "Acute Care Experience" to another hospital after one year. Kindred is a Long Term Acute Care Hospital with patients that are acute care, but need to stay longer in the hospital..(20 days +)....Please if anyone could help me decide. I am currently driving 88 miles to work for the hospital job and kindred is within walking distance... Thanks in advance...
  4. Yeah...I already called and told them that I forgot to mention it...they were very nice about it. I thought that perhaps it would be looked down on, especially back east..but like you said...its better than looking dishonest...thank you everyone for your posts...
  5. K...even if the script for the ambien is 2 years old? Dont even like that stuff but took 1/4th of a 10mg because I hadnt slept in 2 days due to family issues...
  6. Did they not ask you why you didnt list it on your current meds you were taking?
  7. Because I thought that the hospital would find out and not offer me the job...
  8. Yes but I did not list them on my current meds Im taking...I got the script for ambien like 2 years ago and got 30 pills....I hardly ever take them. Called the pharmacy and it was July 12 of 09....LOL...so that gives you a pretty good idea of how often I take them...:))...anyways is that too old of a prescription? I dont think it would be but thats all I have
  9. Hello, I just got hired and have heard that Zoloft can sometimes cause a false positive for Benzo's? I find it hard to believe since their properties are different...however I have read several articles regarding this...Now I am concerned...any input would be helpful. Also I took an Ambien 4 days prior to my test...would that show up as well. Yes I understand the Half-Life concept but it is different for everyone and metabolism plays a big role and my metabolism is ZERO....LOL....kidding...(have gained a lot of weight since nursing school)...Thank you...:redbeathe
  10. well i graduate in may 2010 and got my license in july of 2010...and still no job here in california...talk about depressing
  11. Thank you to all that responded... It is expired I believe tomorrow...
  12. it is not expired yet and it costs less to recertify than it does to start all over again...its like 40 dollar difference...sooo frustrated!! .
  13. I was thinking the same thing.....what kind of place does not keep records for only 2 years ago? Can I call AHA..they should have it yes?
  14. Called the place that I got my certification from 2+ years ago and they do not have a copy??? They were an approved AHA place....Can i call AHA and get it through them? Otherwise, from what I understand I have to pay the full amount as if I was taking it for the first time if I can not provide them with a previous card?? It's like 40-50 dollars more....Any suggestions would be appreciated...Thanks Wendy:redbeathe
