Just Finished NCLEX RN

I just got finished with my second attempt with nclex. I got 265 questions the first attempt and the second attempt. I am nervous but actually feel pretty good about it. When I left the testing center I told the lady working at the desk that I took 265 again and that I was kinda worried. She told me not to worry that at every test session someone has to take 265 no matter what, so maybe that was me!!!Has anyone ever known anyone to take 265 a second time and pass? I got a ton of priority questions, some med surg, pedi and psych. The majority was priority. I hope I passed, God luck to all!!

good for you . hope you did well but could you please explain what nclex means?????? as I am not from usa. Some of the terms usedhere make no sense to those of us from other countries:rolleyes:

Yes, people do pass with 265 questions on their second try. As people have stated in other posts...if you go to 265 questions it means you fluctuate right around the passing standard and the computer has a hard time telling if you are at the standard or just almost there. Obviously the second time you were consistent and it went all the way to 265 to try and figure it out again. You will find out in due time, but just think that maybe this time you were at or above the standard with that last question! You can do this and maybe this time you passed! If not, then maybe three time's a charm, but just because you got 265 on round two does not mean anything "bad." Good luck to you and keep us posted!

This is the licensing examination written by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing. Any registered nurse or licensed practical (or vocational) nurse in the US takes this test to demonstrate they have achieved a basic level of competence.

Welcome to allnurses, by the way. Please feel free to ask if there is something you don't understand. Usually you will get an answer. (Not always, though. I have posted a question and not gotten an answer once in a while.)

You don't say where you live, but I am certain I would have great difficulty understanding the language, much less abbreviations or technical terms..... :)

priority questions: it will give you 4 pt's and ask you which pt would you see first? and you pick based on which pt needs to be seen first. also it may say, there is an internal disaster which pt would you discharge first? its mainly prioritizing patients by which one is more serious.

I found out that I passed Nclex on my second attempt. I am so relieved! Some advice I have to give is stay positive. The first time I took the test I went in there with a negative attitude and thought the whole time I was going to fail, and so I did. This time I stayed calm and told myself I would do fine and look what happened! I took 265 questions both times, so if this happens to anyone else dont freak out. I used the Lippincot book to study and just did about 100 questions a night, I really think it helped me.
