June 2008 NCLEX support group

Published

This thread is for any upcoming graduates taking NCLEX in June of 2008.

To start off with I would love to hear if anyone is taking Kaplan, or Drexel or other prep courses and why did you choose the one you did? I am looking into them and I am just not sure which one is best and why.

Thanks!

i want to thank you guys for the support, and i went to work today as rn i had such a good feeling and was wonderful, and for those taking the test just relax because so far june has been a good month for testing i have not heard many people that didn't pass. plus i believe that if you pass nursing school, n-clex is going to be a breeze, just remember that you already had accomplished such a big deal nursing school and just imagine your self there taking the test and getting all the answers right and pray because for god nothing is impossible!!!:yeah::roll:yelclap::rcgtku::hpygrp:

congrats romie,

thats great news! keep us in your prayers. i am testing tomorrow.

I did better on question trainer 6 (69%) than 7 (59%) so I think that 7 is harder. Maybe it was because of the length and I just got distracted and couldn't sit still? I also kept checking this website, checking my e-mail and facebook and myspace pages, so that probably didn't help to keep me focused! HAHA 265 questions is brutal and I pray that neither of us have to sit through that many questions, especially you since you had that many your first time! I too am just expecting to get 265 and am planning to be at the testing center for 6 hours! I am just going to hope for the best! Let me know how you do on question trainer 7! Good luck and I hope you get a good score! :heartbeat

Well I am done and all I can say is dear god please don't make me do 265 questions come test day. But then again if that what it takes to pass then I suppose it is worth it. I really think that one is harder. There were some questions that I just drew a complete blank on.....very nerve racking. :banghead: I scored a 66% which is lower then what I got on trainer 6 but still at the point they want you to shoot for. Now to review and understand why I got them right and wrong and to figure out what they are talking about on some of them. My husband told me when I emerged from my computer room frazzled stating that I had no idea what some of the questions were referring too that I was at least improving on my guessing skills. :chuckle

Good Luck!!!!:heartbeat

I've only posted a few times, but I wanted to let you guys know I'm testing tomorrow afternoon. I'm nervous, but not nearly as much as I thought I would be. Pray for me, please.

:plsebeg:

Congratulations to all of you who have already passed :yeah:, and I continue to wish good luck to those who are testing soon! :heartbeat

I wonder if I should do these trainers in order. I did 7, then 6. I am doing #1 now, and I probably should have done that one first. I am in the lw 60's.

Good luck to you. Sounds like you are very prepared. :specs:

Thank you, jazzymika! I don't feel very prepared but I guess we'll see how it goes tomorrow! I think I would start with trainer 1 and then work your way up. From my understanding you are supposed to use 7 as a "mock" NCLEX so to speak, but as long as you get through all of them, I'd say your fine! Thanks for your good luck wishes! I can't believe it's tomorrow

Best of luck to you as well!! :heartbeat

hey loboscon,

I got a 65% on the Kaplan readiness test. I don't know what that equates to but thats ok. And as for the Question trainer 7 well I got a 61. So really I think we will both be fine. I am just exhausted and today I woke up and went to the pearson vue site and sat there staring at it for like forever thinking I can just change the date. I didn't do it though so tomorrow is d-day. Let me know if you take the sample tests.

Congrats on your 61%! I am thinking we will both be fine as well! I'm so glad that you didn't change your date...it was tempting to me as well, but we can do this! I'm starting to get butterflies but know that I've got to just relax. I did the sample test #3 and I got a 90% on it! I was soooo shocked, but felt really good about it! I am about to leave to get my massage and then might come home and do one of the other sample tests and see how I do. I'll let you know if I get to them. I'll probably just be ready for bed after my massage haha. If I don't get back on here tonight, then I just wanted to wish you the best of luck and to tell you that I'm rooting for ya and praying for ya! I'll be anxious to hear from you tomorrow! Just remember to breathe and take a break if you start getting anxious or tired. We will soon be RN's and all of this hard work will pay off! :D :heartbeat

I have been repeating these verses to myself all week long and plan to say them when I get nervous or frustrated during my test tomorrow...:saint:

"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5

"I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13

Girl, you are going to be just fine with a 66%! I wish I could have gotten that score, but oh well! NCLEX here I come! Hey good guessing skills are much needed on this test, especially if strategies and knowledge can't get ya there! You're going to be great, I know it! Hang in there and keep on rocking with the studying! Please pray for me, cause this time tomorrow, I'll hopefully be an RN! :D

This may give you a good laugh... and I'm sure you can relate....

I'am a basket case awaiting my results and thought even though the results will be posted tomorrow I will check today. And of course they weren't up on Pearson. So since you can verify a license on your state's website, I decided to do that.

I typed in my name and city and low & behold there I was with a license number!!!!!!! TEARS of JOY, YELLING, and JUMPING up & down!!!! My husband comes in and kisses & hugs me and says congratulations!!!!!!

He then goes over to the computer and says "Um, honey, I don't know how to say this but this is your Graduate Nurse Temporary License."

:chuckle

For a moment... I knew what it felt like to have passed!!!! Who invited my husband in the room anyway...LOL

Hey girl you go back on the game!!! I want to thank you for making me laugh yesterday, I was so worry about my results that I was driving everybody crazzy!!! I wish you could do Kaplan, because the questions are identical to kaplan, even if you can't go to the classes maybe you can buy the online program, and it really works and they will give your money back if you don't pass because they are so sure that you will pass you if follow the program. I will be praying for you!! Ask God to help you and He will, He is an incredible Lord and maybe it is for a reason, only God knows his plans for us, and you must be a very good nurse because you care for your patients not the books literature and that's all that matters. Just keep thinking positive and I know you will pass this next time!!! Keep me posted I will be praying for you:saint:!!!

Thanks for your support and encouragement. I hope your massage was great and best of luck tomorrow!!! You can do this and that 90% on the practice test has to be a wonderful confidence booster. Just go in there with a positive can do attitude. When I was on trainer 7 I had to pause a couple of times, close my eyes, take a deep and think RN. You can do this. :heartbeat

OHHHHHH MY God!!!! He is so Glorious and Wonderful and most of all Faithful!! I PASS MY N-Clex just checked I am a RN now!!!:yeah::D:p:nurse::roll:yelclap::thankya: for those that still need to take really do Kaplan it is identical to n-clex but also do Saunders because that's where you will get the content to be able to answer the questions. For those that took the test and is waiting for the results, its totally normal to feel like you bomb the test and its actually good if you are feeling like that!! Thank you everybody here for the support, this place is awsome!!! Thank you TRAVELSOON for putting up with me hahhaha!!!

Just a note for the foreign nurses: I am originally from Brazil and my english is really bad as you can see when I type, but just have faith in your self and just go with your first choice!!!!

:loveya:I'm so proud of you. Glad that is over for you. Hey, your an RN now!!!!!! Enjoy it.

i found out today that i passed! i took the exam on june 17th. i had 265 questions. this was my third attempt. i'm still in shock.

to the people that will take the nclex-rn, don"t give up. believe in yourself and everything will come into place.

:yeah:grats to you! this should help put a few fears at ease that people can not pass at 265 questions. i am very happy for you. go ahead and call yourself a registered nurse outloud a few times. it really feels wierd at first, but then it feels like home
