June 2010 CRNE Results

Published

I don't want to start the posts too early, but I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it is actually supposed to take to get results this year. I know that some people I worked with last summer got theirs in early-mid July. I checked out the CNO website and the CNA website (and a few others along the way) one says 8-12 weeks and the other says 4-6. I'm already driving myself crazy...if I have to wait another 8+ weeks I'll end up really going off the deep end :uhoh3:

Hi all, am a new member, but am a regular visitor of this site..i passed in this June by the grace of God..a lovely thing i noticed is you all are so supporting &encouraging each other...am so proud of u ..congrats to all those who made this time.&better luck for those who r planning to write in October.

My DH checked the mail and yelled at me to get downstairs QUICK! So I almost killed myself running down the stairs, but it was worth it!!!

Sorry International Nurse! Dont give up, I know its quite a challenge if you trained internationally. I have a friend who was helped by the following organization. They have Prep Classes for Internationally Educated Nurses . So give them a try. http://www.care4nurses.org/ . They basically help Internationally Educated Nurses in Canada. Good Luck.

Specializes in NICU, PICU, PCVICU and peds oncology.

Just a reminder to everyone that this is a professional nursing discussion forum and the use of text speak is not permitted per the Terms of Service:

Desiring to maintain professionalism, text speak (also known as chatspeak, txtspk, texting language or txt talk) is discouraged. Along with using proper English spelling and punctuation, this shows respect for the owner, other bulletin board members & guests and makes it easier to read your important thoughts.

For members whose first language is not English who are hoping to work in an English-speaking environment, it also offers a great opportunity to practice the correct use of the language.

This is all too stressful. Can someone explain to me how the CNO expects us to send in everything and be registered for an exam in October, this Monday (July 25th) if we don't know if we passed or failed as of yet! This is crazy!

So i have also sent an email to my nurse manager. She hasnt responded yet and I wont show up at work tomorrow. LOL.I have been through a lot in life, this is certainly one of the minors will go thru with my positive attitude. I just have to use my critical thinking skills for the upcoming exam. Good Luck.

Are you still on orientation, or do you have your own assignment? If you're on your own, then you definitely need to show up tomorrow, unless you've been told that the manager got your message and took you off the schedule! If you just assume that they got the message and aren't expecting you... you'll be messing things up for the charge nurse and night nurse who are waiting for you to get there, and and you'll be messing up your own chances for getting rehired once you pass the CRNE by looking irresponsible.

If nothing else... call the unit tonight and see if they still have you on the list for tomorrow.

Specializes in Medical and general practice now LTC.

Hi and welcome to the site

Sorry to hear you failed, it is harder as a International nurse however you may find the Canadian Fundamentals of Nursing by Potter and Perry. Also see if the college do any courses for IEN's. I know Nova Scotia have some stuff for IEN's and prep for the CRNE. I went on a study day which I found helpful.

Would also suggest if you feel this is a big problem not to rush to resit the exam but give yourself chance to study and prepare

Im sick to my stomach over these results. I have relocated...signed a lease on an apartment....moved 5 hours from home...and Im to start my job on Monday and still no results. I know it sounds like I had a lot of faith in passing but I was obligated to get up here as it was the last room available until OCTOBER at any apartment buildings near the hospital ( I dont have a vehicle, will be walkign to work). So what Im wondering is, I know my job is closer to Toronto then my home address so would they have been notified before me? Was a letter of failure/pass sent to both my employer and me at the same time? I feel like calling the hospital and asking for my results since I dont have them yet. If I failed....it will be a huge disaster.

Waitinggrad, I have heard conflicting messages. It seems as though thte college takes care to let you know before your employer ex: your name is left up on "findanurse" if you have a temp licence, and results are not given over the phone. When speaking with the CNO, one person told me the letters are mailed the same day (yours and your employers), and another assured me that I would know before my employer. You might find it helpful to look at what ladydodo's letter said which was posted a few pages ago. I think it implies that a letter is sent to the employer shortly after you get yours. I feel your anxiety. I hope you do fine. All the best...:nurse:???
