I don't want to start the posts too early, but I was just wondering if anyone knew how long it is actually supposed to take to get results this year. I know that some people I worked with last summer got theirs in early-mid July. I checked out the CNO website and the CNA website (and a few others along the way) one says 8-12 weeks and the other says 4-6. I'm already driving myself crazy...if I have to wait another 8+ weeks I'll end up really going off the deep end
As I have already cautioned you, the use of capital letters in this way is the Internet equivalent to shouting. Please do NOT use all caps in your posts.
Maybe she's very excited and was shouting? hehe I know I did some shouting when I found out I passed! I'll keep in mind I must only use my indoor voice around here.
I would like to thank everyone for their kind words. Still waiting for that letter. Just not sure what they meant by re-doing the 4 years when I already passed it and have my diploma. Does not quite make sense. Plus, at the end of writing the exam the blue sheet that not many filled out mentions and asks if this is your 1st attempt, 2nd attempt, 3rd attempt, 3+ attempt. So this + means that there is hope.
To yk2009: I cannot send messages so not sure how to contact you.
I got the same letter as you and noticed a mistake saying we did practical registered nursing like rpn. We were writing the rn exam not rpn. When I called cno they woman told me it was a mistake.
Will let you know when I know more. Good luck to those who are lucky and got in for the October exam. If it is your third time please make sure you are completely ready.
Hi there,
My name is Harj and I am a new RN. I just wrote the CRNE in June 2010. I recieved my results in the mail on July 21st, 2010. Prior to writing the exam and during consolidation I was studying for the exam, but then I also looked into the exam prep courses there are out there to be offered. I found a very good course with HCPT Health care Training Providers. They are affiliated with Trillium Health and the course was excellent. The course was two weeks long, every day Monday to Friday from 9 am until about 4 pm. You were provided with all the right materials to help study for the exam. I would highly recommend this course for anyone that has to re-sit the exam or anyone that is writing the exam in October. Congrats to everyone that has passed and good luck in the search for employment. :)
Hi guys
I am a registered nurse in England and took the June CRNE. I spent the last 7 weeks sure I failed due to my lack of experience nursing in Canada and because our training focuses entirely on nursing adult patients. I finally got my results today and I passed! HUGE relief!
Just a few thoughts on the exam... While in theory I agree with examination (although we don't do it in the UK), I felt some of the questions on the exam, one in particular, were ridiculous and did not reflect the knowledge base of a newly qualified nurse. And I've been practicing for 3 years! You guys must see a HUGE variety of experiences during your training, if the range of questions i answered are anything to go by!
My sympathies to those who failed, and best wishes for future Attempts. Congrats to all who passed. Now I just need to sort a job and a work permit
TO ALL WHO FAILED .....DONT EVER GIVE UP YOUR DREAMS.....YOU ARE ABLE TO WRITE N-CLEX WITHOUT PASSED YOUR CANADIAN....BUT YOU WILL NOT FIND WORK IN THIS ECONOMY UNTIL YOU ARE WILLING TO WORK IN A VERY RURAL COMMUNITY
IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE....OR PERHAPS YOU WILL GET LUCKY.. and WORK in a big CITY...I can say that if you study in a group that helps The best way to pass is with experience...start volunteering and try to work in the field....MY only downfall is not starting out as a NURSE ASSISTANT......I have seen many nurse,s ask an assistant to walk down the hall (way on the other end) to get a patient a drink of water. NO job as a NURSE is above this......... ( I have a great deal of respect for NURSING ASSISTANTS)...SO GET ALL THE EXPERIENCE YOU CAN.....IT WILL HELP YOU PASS.
ALL THE BEST......TO YOU ALL..........

I'm really sorry to hear that. I failed my 1st attempt and I'm really worried about the up coming Oct exam. I felt was well prepared for June exam but it didn't workout as I hoped, and not sure how to prepare better for the next one
