Johns Hopkins Accelerated Summer Entry for BSN/MSN 2014

Published

Hi everyone! As the early and regular decision deadlines for the Hopkins accelerated programs approach, I thought I would start a new thread for this year. It seems like it's been a pretty useful source of support for prior applicants during this grueling process :)

yay!!! got my call too!

for anyone still wondering, i called the financial aid office--they did send emails to all applicants--i guess they care more about efficiency than about confusing potential students :( now i really wish i hadn't gotten my hopes up

Got super excited to see an email from JHU today, but realized shortly after that it was one of those mass emails that invite you to chat with admissions. I later came home to a rejection letter in the mail for the accBSN program. LOL. Oh well.

Don't get down on yourself- they'll be making calls all week and the snail mail is on its way! Congratulations to everyone!

Hi All!

I was accepted to the ABSN program, Fall Entry. I did not receive an email from Financial Aid...was this email only sent to applicants of the Bachelor's to Master's program, or did any ABSN applicants get it too?

Thanks!!

Hi! I got the financial aid email too, and I only applied for ABSN (fall 2014).

Just to confirm, the phone calls are for acceptance only right?

Yes- phone calls for acceptance only and letters for all applicants.

Got the call but no letter yet. I'm curious about how soon the turnaround time will be on aid. I've got decisions to make!

Are there any west coasters in this group who've gotten calls? I'm in AZ, haven't received a call yet, and I'm trying to gage whether I should just move on and focus on other schools... I have a deposit due at Penn this Fri.

@ND_Irish good point....i live in CA and haven't gotten a call yet. I also applied to the BSN-MSN Clinical Nurse Specialist program which ive heard accepts only about 20ppl...wonder what order they go by

It varies....the counselors split up the applicant pool alphabetically and by regions. It can take some time as this isn't the only thing they have to do all day (ie today they had the online chat today that sucked up two hours of office time). As for the west coasters they try to make your calls later in the day to accommodate for the time difference so if there are meetings or events like the chat that can impact the amount of calls that go out. In my opinion if you have a deposit due and seriously want to go to Hopkins, call and ask to speak to an admissions counselor directly and explain your situation. Hope that helps!
