Johns Hopkins Accelerated Summer Entry for BSN/MSN 2014

Published

Hi everyone! As the early and regular decision deadlines for the Hopkins accelerated programs approach, I thought I would start a new thread for this year. It seems like it's been a pretty useful source of support for prior applicants during this grueling process :)

Decisions are mailed out via US mail. Only in very extreme circumstances do they send out decisions via email and this is on a case by case basis.

Hello! Does anyone know if they mail acceptances to the current or permanent address? I am home for spring break for 2 weeks (permanent address) and won't have access to my current address's mail until after that. Thanks!

Good question about where they send it...

It seems like they call you if you get accepted AND they send you a letter. It seems they only send a letter if its a rejection...so you should get good news regardless via phone while you are on break....or bad news once you get home.

Anyone get a call yet?

Anyone get an email from the financial aid office? I'm really hoping that they wouldn't be so cruel as to send an email about completing the financial aid application if a student is not going to be accepted :(

I got it, thinking the exact same thing as you. I was previously enrolled in an online class with Hopkins and it now says I'm no longer a "special undergrad" but a "BSN undergrad" in the online system. So I'm confused. I guess we'll just have to wait. That email was very cryptic.

I got it too! Hoping they wouldn't waste the effort to collect that info if they didn't really need it!

I got the financial aid email as well-hopefully we find out soon!

Are you guys going to call the office of admissions tomorrow or just check your mailbox obsessively? I just want to know lol!

Just got my call! Has anyone else heard back today for the ABSN Fall 2014 cohort??

congrats! did you get one of the emails from financial aid yesterday?

I got the email from FA...kind of off putting that they want all the extra stuff in addition to the FAFSA and I haven't heard a peep from admissions. I wrote an email to FA months ago asking them to clarify the FA process, with specific questions about things I didn't understand. They never got back to me. I also wrote to admissions asking if they needed my fall grades for prereqs and they never wrote me back either. Then I got an email from admissions at the beginning of march saying they would be putting my application on hold until they received my fall grades. Frustrating. I would think all that money that we pay to apply would maybe make the process a little easier. To be fair, I have had similar issue with other schools I applied to. I will be going to the school that actually made a lot of effort to gain my business, and made the application process and FA process much easier on me.

I couldn't take it anymore and called the Admissions Office. She was so sweet and checked on it for me- I am accepted! She said the decisions have been mailed and they are making calls this week.
