Hi im a new RN and i recently had a job interview at St. Anthony's Hospital for a graduate nurse residency program! I had this interview April 18, which i believe went splendid, however, i still have not heard from them. I got inpatient and i gave them a call this morning 4/29 and spoke with one of the nurses that interviewed me and she said that i am suppose to get a call from a specific person! However, the day is almost over and still i have no received a phone call. Does this mean I am getting the job or are they really going to call me to tell me that i didn't get the position?
Any feedback will help me, I have even been feeling anxiety from this!

There are many applicants and the hiring process has many steps. It's only been 9 business days. I have waited months for an answer. The "specific person" is in HR and they are notoriously slow.
It does sound promising, but wait patiently or you could blow it.

It took me almost 4 months to hear from HR with the job I have now and it was worth the wait. I doubt it will take that long for you to hear anything. Just echoing the PPs

Perhaps placing a follow-up call in mid-May might be a good idea, but it will not move things along faster or make them want to hire you. Good luck.

It has been almost 2 weeks so I would move on to something else. Most jobs that I've gotten, I was given the offer just days after the interview.
Yes i am going to try to continue to be patient :)
HR personnel can be horribly inefficient. They often do not keep promises they make, either due to a backlog of other tasks to accomplish or outright disorganization.Perhaps placing a follow-up call in mid-May might be a good idea, but it will not move things along faster or make them want to hire you. Good luck.
Very true, thank you for your advise! i will follow up sometime in May !

It may generally take 4 to 6 weeks before hr and other departments get everything settled. Call in another week and try to find out who you need to get an answer from. Good luck!

Any news yet? If not, I would try to call HR and ask what them what are the next steps in the process. Explain that you interviewed several weeks ago and have not been notified of the outcome. I really hope you have heard by now and you got the job! I have applied there as well, but I haven't even been contacted for an interview. It still just says application received. I applied to several Baycare hospitals and have either been rejected right away or it has said application received for at least 3 weeks. So, I think it says a lot that you even got an interview. Any tips on increasing my chances? I only have an ASN, and a BA in another field, so that may be part of the problem.

I interviewed with a recruiter last september 2015 and she said if the references were good i would interview with the NM . Fast forward to 2 weeks ago, a different recruiter (the 2 recruiters probably work together) invited me for a second interview (and i think the first interview went so-so). I come to the HR office (may 4th, a few days ago) and am greeted by the NM who brings me up to her office. It was a little Q&A but i talked and probably answered most of her questions she wanted to ask, but honestly i didn't over do it (I hope ). Then she invited the staff in and they were sweet and both said that they hoped I got the job! that's good to hear. the NM excuses herself to invite staff in but I don't remember if I said thank you or nice to meet you, i do not remember because i thought she was coming back. Anyway, at the end one of the staff walked me to the elevator, and I asked what the next steps were and she said to wait for HR to call me and that they call rather quickly, or at least they called her quickly. It's been a few days, and of course it's the weekend, so i'm hoping they call me this week.
How should I follow up? I've already waited over 6 months for the second interview, whats 3 more? But sometimes HR gets busy, so what should i do? I did a f/u email to the NM btw, with an attached resume (she didn't ask for one) , and i also sent one to both recruiters in an attachment via email.
Thoughts?
