I *just* watched Jay Leno make a really rude comment about nurses- it went something to the effect of... " you know nurses are the most overworked profession in America... especially in those adult movies" GRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!
Nurses are not Bimbos, Mr. Leno!!!!!! :angryfire :angryfire :angryfire :nurse:

I agree with you. However, I have to respectfully consider that others are offended and give them that right. It's a big world out there and everyone doesn't have to share our opinion.
Hey, as someone who gets offended on a regular basis, I wholeheartedly support every American's right to be offended... shame on you offended-people-censors!!!
I saw a recent blurb advertizing the show "House". I do not like the show, but I will never watch it again (that would be the second time). In the ad House has a patient who has a seizure (phony looking) and falls to the floor from the bed. House exclaims, "Clean-up on aisle three-that's why I invented nurses." He then grins. He must have attended the same med school that Dr. Nick attended on the Simpson's. "Good-bye everybody!!"

I kinda wonder how well that went over with doctors?
Me too, in retrospect they both sucked. I wanted Dean.
We were talking about him last night at my women's book club - that comment he made about "hiding the salami" regarding Harriet Miers . ... had us all laughing. I guess he was on Letterman recently and Dave said "what were you thinking??". Dean was pretty embarrassed - he just couldn't think of the right phrase or something.
We had a pretty free and wide ranging talk about politics - all respectful of each other and all ok with having a good laugh.

Just as a report of pain is subjective in a patient, a report of being insulted is subjective to the person. I may not be insulted, but why force someone into thinking my way by saying "get a life it's only a joke". Perhaps I should stop and think, "hmmm...........this person is insulted, let me take a look at that, and respect it".
God knows I have strong feelings about how someone else feels. I personally can't for the life of me understand how more than 50% of Americans voted for Bush, I just don't see it.
Am I making sense. :rotfl:
You make perfect sense, Tweety. I understand what you are saying, and do agree with it. While I don't think saying, "It's only a joke" is insulting, the "get a life" part of it is.
However, you are right. It's not about the way I see things, but how others see them. Funny, my mom and I were just talking about this very thing last night.
I'll leave the Bush comment alone, though.......

Well, I did say "more than 50%" but whose counting. The fact anyone voted for him amazes me. :rotfl:
