Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.
And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.
Only the finest people...
Here in Colorado there are quite a few people who continue to believe the Trump and republican lies about election integrity. Nevertheless, this fellow from Nebraska felt like he needed to be involved in Colorado politics.

Just now, Ado Annie said:Are there really people who don't think that the idea of having VP Pence refuse to certify the election results was nutty and illegal?
Yeah... there really are.

Yeah. Some in my own family think that way, and - since they know that they are right - they can't hear me. They listen; we don't fight. But they can't hear.
I just don't get it.

My family members too. The minute I show them evidence to contradict one fraud theory they skitter to another, slightly different speculation. Just like Trump did when confronted by his staff about the election lies.

Please explain how drop boxes and mailing multiple ballots to every address in a State in violation of state law constitutes election integrity? I'll wait.

I encounter the same with my liberal friends and family. There are several lies and propaganda being perpetrated by both sides and in between. It seems it's no longer about listening to each other and more about winning a fight. Any compromise is felt as though one side is giving in.
Normal everyday citizens like us can for the most part converse respectfully and at least see the other side.
I will say that what I learned about Trump and how he treated Pence is appalling and if illegal Trump should be charged. However I would need to hear what Trump has to say about it first before I make my final decision. A criminal court case would be very helpful.

Sure.
This thread is about the Investigation into the lie and propaganda that inspired regular people to attack the capitol in an attempt to overturn the election results and elevate Trump into an illegitimate position of power. It's noted that you felt a need to project that craziness on to the political party that is attempting to hold Trump accountable.

Inquisitions don't care about guilt or innocence.
