Things seem to be unfolding rather quickly. Former White House aides and advisors are scrambling to cover themselves as they receive subpoenas to appear and produce documents.

It’s rare when lawyers — as opposed to their clients — take the Fifth Amendment. But Jeffrey Clark, the former Justice Department lawyer who reportedly tried to help Donald Trump overturn the 2020 presidential election, is now claiming the privilege against self-incrimination to avoid testifying before the House committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. He has just been joined in that posture by one of Trump’s main outside legal advisers, John Eastman.

The lawsuit comes after the committee signaled it would pursue a criminal contempt referral against Meadows because of his refusal to sit for a deposition in the investigation into the Capitol riot. Meadows alleges that the subpoenas are "overly broad and unduly burdensome," while claiming that the committee "lacks lawful authority to seek and to obtain" the information requested.
And apparently Mark Meadows had a power point outlining how to overturn election results.

The 38-page presentation, entitled "Election Fraud, Foreign Interference & Options for 6 Jan," is dated one day before the Capitol riot. It's believed to have been submitted by Meadows after he was subpoenaed by the panel in connection with the insurrection.

Yes they wear pink xxx hats and refuse to concede Stacy Abrams lost the Governor's race because of fraud. They also claim Russian disinformation and collusion stole the election from Hillary.

I mean if you are going to argue with me over that, or at the very least this is what you comment on...?.I feel it is you who the extremist you so often claim Republicans are. Are you going to sit here and claim that the is only truth and virtue with no propaganda coming from the left? Really?
I think you have more in common with how the Quanon folk think.
No. I simply remarked on your comment which suggested that there's some relevant corruption among democrats. There was nothing note worthy in your thought that if he broke laws that Trump should be charged, lots of people believe that, possibly the majority.
I made no claims about the virtue of the left or the presence of propaganda in far left circles. I do point out that the democrats didn't try to install a president by attacking the Capitol and stopping the joint session of congress, they aren't legislating political influence into vote counting and they aren't telling lies about election security to inflame their voting base to the degree that they will dismiss and excuse attempts to turn our democratic republic into something much less democratic. It isn't the far left that is actively threatening our free and fair elections. You should watch the hearings rather than trying to normalize what happened last January 6.
Discernment is a terrible thing to waste.

No, Democrats try instill majority rule by trying to pack the Supreme Court. Give it time as they keep trying to turn the country into Venezuela.

Interesting. I said nothing of corruption. I was talking about everyday people and how divided the parties are because of our officials acting like children.
I'm not normalizing Jan.6, I even agree Trump should be charged. Obviously these people didn't succeed, most are being charged.{Jan.6 rioters). How can the entire party be trying to undermine our elections? Even if they think the 2020 election wasn't as secure as some claim and factually all elections have some fraud, not enough to really make an impact. . People can think and say what they want. Doesn't mean they are conspiring to undermine our elections especially when they are most ikely going to win in November.

Good point with stacking the court. They also want to get rid of the filibuster and electoral college. These have been part of political institutions for a long time.

Did you read the articles that Ishared which describes how republican across the country are changing election laws and electing extremists to critical election positions? There is good reason to expect that there will be republic shenanigans relative to the next elections... many of them have been siding with or actually telling lies about the 2020 election security.
Pretty much sums up the Kangaroo Committee. Even Youtube removes their videos for disinformation.

That's their modus operandi for not having a platform of ideas. So easy to deflect and criticize and so difficult to come up with practical ideas that can actually be implemented. And the they gaslight those who disagrees with them. For instance, the Biden is now taking the long view of stopping caravans of people coming to the border by addressing the stressors that drive people away from their countries of origin. I have seen one of the stories from Fox about the increase in "terrorists" arrests during the Biden administration but that "fact" standing alone is meaningless. Maybe there are differences in policing techiniques by the border patrol. A simple lede like that over simplifies the situation. Because we take issue with the supposed "fact" that Fox is reporting doesn't mean that we support illegal immigration which Fox wants their audience to believe. Sometimes I think that the Foxers wouldn't complain if they were just shot....problem solved. I have yet to see their slant on how to solve what has proven to be an unsolvable problem. How can we invest in countries rampant with corruption? Why would any American business want to open in Central America? We have to figure this out. Or not......it's just what happens when the planet runs out of ways to sustain too many people.

I copied your entire post because you seem to be offended if I try to edit so that I can comment on a single point.
I am not saying that the entire Republican Party is radicalized. But Texas is showing signs:
QuoteHOUSTON — Meeting at their first in-person convention since 2018, Texas Republicans on Saturday acted on a raft of resolutions and proposed platform changes to move their party even further to the right. They approved measures declaring that President Joe Biden “was not legitimately elected” and rebuking Sen. John Cornyn for taking part in bipartisan gun talks. They also voted on a platform that declares homosexuality “an abnormal lifestyle choice” and calls for Texas schoolchildren “to learn about the humanity of the preborn child.”

Other than possibly the Joe Biden part not seeing much "radicalization" here.

Build the fence and enforce the laws. Real simple. But Democrats want full open borders and then demand amnesty so they can bribe and create a new generation of Democrat voters.
