January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

I think it's $9.00-10 bucks the most

Every campus has a different one of course. What campus are you going to?

I want to know again.... Who is going to South Campus? Is anyone interested in doing a mixer? I think it would be a good idea to get to know each other so we can feel each other out. We can form study groups, learn each others strengths and weakness. I'm all for helping each other out as long as no one enables a blood sucker.

Bloodsucker=a student who wants to sit and ride other classmates coat tails. Doesn't contribute to anything, and depends on another student to always be there for them ie. homework, classwork, bookreading That's not happening.

Enjoy

Thoughts anyone???

What do you mean by a mixer?

I was thinking of doing an South Campus mixer what do you guys think?

Bloodsucker haha brings back memories lol I remember a chick I had micro with a few semesters ago she did the same thing. She almost dragged me down. But I woke up and cut her loose quick!!! I got an "A"....she failed :)

@MCM A meet and great.

For process 1 this semester, we have to read 7 chapters for our first exam. chapter 24,26,27,28,29,38,39.

Is this all in the orientation packet?

I don't know what chapters however, I do remember in an old thread maybe (May2013 to August 2012) someone said 7 chapters needed to be read by the first day of class. I don't know if that's in the orientation packet. I do know everyone says to read but what? If I see anything in the packet I will let you all know. I think it would best to keep checking our emails especially before/during winter break for reading assignments. Vital Signs, and Physical Assessment are usually the first assignment I think we could read up on that.

Great!! Thanks. :)

Just go over physical assessment and vitals at least. They will demonstrate it on your first two lab days though. They are very specific. I have the paper but idk how to post pics on here so you guys at least have an idea how they want it done. :/
