  1. You're welcome :) P We use Broward health, plantation general and memorial for our clinicals.
  2. Hello This exams from Perry Potter Fundamentals of nursing 8th edition Exam 1: Chapters 24,26,27,28,29,38,39 Exam 2: Chapters 15-20, 30 Exam 3: Chapters 33,34,36,42,49 Exam 4: Chapters 1-6 There's some topic that was included that was not part perry potter book like specimen collection and diagnostic procedures which is part of exam 3. She gave us the powerpoint for that.
  3. I forgot to say that I am from central campus. We found out about what chapters to read on the first day of class when we got our syllabus. I just finished process 1 last month, so central campus might still use the same chapters for the first exam. I agree with butterfly about the physical assessment chapters and vital signs as the most important chapters which can be helpful with return demo too.
  4. For process 1 this semester, we have to read 7 chapters for our first exam. chapter 24,26,27,28,29,38,39.
  5. Hello Butterfly6890. I was wondering if you have taken Prof. K for process 2. Any advice you can give? I just passed process 1 and moving on process 2? Thanks
  6. central usually goes to plantation general, broward health and memorial
  7. It's my first semester here at central campus. The program is not easy, but doable if you put enough effort into it. Practice your math skills, read the fundamentals book (Potter/Perry) and practice your return demo skills. You need to put an equal effort on reading and practicing skills. I have seen people doing great in theory class, but failed the return demo. I have heard bad things about central campus too, but if you really want this as a career path just do your best and do not fall behind on your reading and skills. The fundamental success book as a supplement also helps me to increase my critical thinking ability.
  8. Hello. Registration for the nursing program is different from Broward Registration. They will give you a special registration code on the day of orientation. I just started august and so far still on the program. We did lose some people from failing return demo and math though. I advice you guys to study math ratio and proportion and read the fundamentals book as you prepared for your first semester.
  9. Hello everyone. I would like to apply to MDC for January 2014 semester. I would like to know the retention/graduation rate for the nursing program. I heard broward college have 80% failing rate on first semester, so this got me worried lol I wanted to hear from MDC graduates for FT and accelerated. Thanks
  10. Hello everyone. I applied for Fall 2013 semester with 3.6 science gpa and 88% Hesi. I am not sure if I would get accepted with that stats. I submitted my application on the very last day. I am very anxious about changing career. Reading about broward failing rate terrifies me lol Is it true that miami dade college have a higher retention rate than Broward?
  11. Hi everyone! I was originally a nursing major back in college but because of the long waiting list back then (1998) I decided to move into social work. I guess all this time I still yearn of becoming a nurse. I was wondering if I have to retake all my prerequisite again since its been 11-12 yrs. I got A on all my prerequiste class (micro, anatomy and physiology). I live in Florida. Thanks
  12. Hi there! not sure about your location but when I was taking the prerequsite in California some classes are prerequesite of the other class. For example before you take anatomy and physiology, you need to take biology and chemistry. Some school offers a fast paced classes now, so I guess its possible but prepare for studying at night :wink2:
