January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

Who told you that? They sent two students home for that.

I have a friend in the program at south campus and she wears the blue polo shirt and scrub bottoms on theory days. And then of course scrubs to clinical.

My friend at south campus... She was actually wearing it. The polo and scrub bottoms. Sucks.. Polos and jeans look way better lol oh well.

They probably just changed the uniform policy... Maybe it's something new at south.

Oh okay! I've seen weirder. Scrub top and yoga pants on my campus. Lol! :D

Good morning everyone. I was told by someone that half way through RN school I can get an LPN license. Is this true can someone shed light on this? I tried doing some research on the board of nursing website (florida) but found nothing.

i don't know about getting an lpn licence but i heard that after your first semester you can get your cna licence.

You can get your LPN license if you graduated and couldn't pass your RN NCLEX. Halfway through RN school you would still need Ortho-Neuro, Cardio and Trends.

Hey guys, I completed my fingerprints today but I am confused. I received a sealed envelope that's supposed to go to broward college. They said the receipt and everything is in there. Do I bring it to BC before my binder? How will i get the copies in my binder? :////

It depends on your campus I'm guessing. For south campus you turn everything in at the same time...the receipt and the finger print envelope along with your physical, immunization ,and certificates.

FYI...For Process I theory at Central,,, as long as you wear your Polo,, you can wear any bottom...Shorts though need to "reach knees". For clinicals,,, as long as the blues matched,,, you could wear any scrub bottom with your B.C. top...Not so in Process II. I had a small slit on the bottom of my scrubs & I had to sew them up...Also,,, the blues & the brand must match exactly...In addition,,, I was told that the watch had to have a "smooth sweeping hand"...Not true,,,any watch with 2nd hand will do... Just took Exam I in Process II today...Waiting on pins & needles for Professor to post the grades...If you REALLY want this,,, U CAN DO IT!!! We started with 60...Today's count is 37!!! Good luck to you all!!!

I'm gonna be honest. I feel burnt out. Majority of my class flunked Psych exam number one including myself. I'm tired. I just took a four hour nap and feel exhausted and I have clinicals tomorrow. I just wanna cry. At least I only have one more clinical left.

Oh no Butterfly!!! I feel for you,,,Sorry that you are so stressed,,, but I know you can do this!!! And you know what??? CRY...I just did,,, & am feeling a little better now. (Of course I also screamed & said a few juicy curse words...even made up a few of my own lol). You are always so positive...hang in there!!! :)
