January 2014 Broward College

Published

Welcome.... This is a thread created for January 2014 Broward College students and others who are interested in there ADN program. We all have so many questions and concerns about the program.

We are 7-8 months away from sitting in the first class of the January 2014 nursing program. What have you been doing to prepare for this? What pre-req's do you have left to take? What inspired you to become a nurse? Is BC your first school of chose? Are there any other programs your interested in?

Don't be shy. Don't lurk. Share your thoughts.

I forgot to say that I am from central campus. We found out about what chapters to read on the first day of class when we got our syllabus. I just finished process 1 last month, so central campus might still use the same chapters for the first exam.

I agree with butterfly about the physical assessment chapters and vital signs as the most important chapters which can be helpful with return demo too.

For process 1 this semester we have to read 7 chapters for our first exam. chapter 24,26,27,28,29,38,39.[/quote']

@shoppinggrl05 do you have a list of which chapters each exam covers for nursing process 1 , I would like to start reading ahead on my free time. Thanks !

Btw my classes will be at central too so it's perfect :)

Is anyone having trouble with the background check? I can't even figure out where to start and when I enter the package code, it says it's invalid. Help!

Make sure your typing the letter o and not zero if you over 21 it should be RO79-21

You're welcome :) P

We use Broward health, plantation general and memorial for our clinicals.

Does anyone knows anything about uniforms policy on south campus? Like which shoes we have to buy?

White shoes like sneakers or nursing shoes. No clogs. Blue uniform scrubs for both theory and clinical days.

I was told we could wear our polos with scrub bottoms for theory..and then our regular scrub uniforms would be for clinical days.....

Who told you that? They sent two students home for that.
