I have learned that I seem to be the "Go To" when my AN friends are butt tired and need a post posted...and I like that.
I've learned that I miss the girls (and guy) on the School Nurse Forum.
I've learned that tomatoes are hardy.
I've learned that tears help sometimes.
I've learned that my mom is one of the strongest people I know.
Hmmm, I haven't learned much, but the week is still young.
I'm sure ixchel will check in. No worries. In the meantime...What have you learned this week?
Eyeballs are my kryptonite.
False teeth were mine. When I was in high school I worked in a nursing home where most of the aides were Old Order Mennonite farm women. (This was way before AIDS was on the radar.) Those ladies would just stick their hands into patients' mouths, barehanded, to take out teeth. I always gloved. They used to laugh at me for that. A lot of times, unless the patient had a massive brownout, they'd clean up the patient without gloves. They never gloved if the patient had "only" wet the bed. They thought I was delicate; I thought they were crazy.
I have learned that when I take the time and effort to respond to a post with a response that is informative and nowhere near snarky or mean, if the person I responded to doesn't even bother to indicate that they deigned to read said response, and indeed never comes back to the thread, I really, really feel like taking a big ol' bite outta someone! And as I've said before, I'm not by nature a biter.
Sometimes people are just rude. But sometimes I wonder if it is a glitch in the site. I don't get notifications anymore (and can't figure out why), so it seems like I'm ignoring people. :/
You know I've always been one to "like" a post as a thank you and then post a "thanks for all the advice" when I feel I have enough information.Have I been Interneting wrong?
Oh, no, I wasn't referencing anyone I know here. I'm talking more about the people who start a thread, and then never "like" anything (or just "like" the replies that tell them what they want to hear *eyeroll*), never do even a "thanks for everything guys" post, and then are never seen again.
You do just fine, OOD; sometimes I forget you're just a student *ducks and runs like the wind* 😛
I learned that buying nursing books at my cc bookstore is a money making scheme. Not only are the books ridiculously expensive, but they are completely non-refundable, even if unopened.
Not only that, but its very difficult to say buy 2 or 3 books used and buy the rest from the bookstore, because they are bundled. Or to try to save money by waiting to purchase the Mat/peds and psych books because, yup, they are bundled. If I had the money id be buying my books anywhere other than the bookstore (Using financial aid credit, $1400 later)
I love going to the beach with my littles, but I want to go back at least once more with the hubs, so that i can say i actually swam this summer, bahaha
Im really bummed that i can't afford to go to Dorney Park one last time, even with the season pass.
That being a noob is fun, i just got my BP cuff today and was totally psyched to hear the brachial pulse.
I too hate olives, yuck.

I liked you despite the olives. Jensmom and I are going to have an olive and wine party and no one else is invited!
I went to Dorney Park at the end of the school year with the chamber singers from my school. I am the school nurse. It was the first time they ever competed and they came in 2nd overall and won the fleur de Lis prize for character. We went on 20 plus roller coasters. I had the BEST TIME!!!
