I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
I have a question about the immunizations. I'm getting them all at the Henry County Health Dept. for $8!!! The TB is $5 and all the rest are $1. I can't afford to have them done anywhere else. However, the paper has to be signed by a nurse practitioner or doctor but the health department said they just give print outs and there isn't anyone to sign. I don't know what to do. I don't have a family doctor and my insurance has a super high deductible. Any ideas??
Another question...
Do all of the campuses have different requirements? My acceptance letter for Muncie just said we have to be CPR certified. It didn't say whether it had to be the professional CPR class or not, as long as it is from the Red Cross or the American Heart Association. We didn't have anything about a background check either. The paper with our immunizations also had a paper that states we are capable to be in the program, but it was stuff asking if I can read, do basic math, etc. It's weird. It seems like Muncie has a lot of different requirements then the other campuses. It's stressing me out!
Well that and the fact I have no idea how I'm going to pay for this!!!
Rock,
I'm getting mine done at different places too. My dr at my physical signed off at the bottom and initialed all the squares on the physical form. I asked her if I needed to bring it back with proof from vaccinations. she said no, just to make sure they were initialed properly. There is a place by the vacs except the HIB so the nurse who did mine just initialed under it.
Does that make sense? I don't feel like I'm explaining it very well.
I'm getting most of mine done in Rochester HD because they are free. Here in Logan I had to wait until July 31 to get an appointment and they wanted to charge me $55 for the MMR. The others were a little cheaper, but I'll go a few extra miles to not have to pay for them. Plus Rochester had them every Wednesday. So I can get them done sooner.
Rock~~~thats crazy, I bet once you get there and tell them that it's for nursing school that they will sign it...I say this because I know at Marion County the nurse practitioner is the one who gives all the immunizations...so just go and get them...and i would bet that the person who told you that is the one who gives out the receipts that have all of them printed, not the immunization record
I called Terre Haute Monday about 4. She said she had them in her hand. The secretary had already gone through them and she was double checking. She asked my points and name and counted the apps right there on the phone. She said I made it...unless something drastic happened. They are accepting 40. I still will not feel relief until the letter comes!

I emailed the head of the nursing department. She emailed back....
"The letters are being mailed out this afternoon.

Matilda, I am so sorry! What a disappointment! Can you appeal to the program chair since you were given misinformation?
