67% on every 'practice' test...will I pass nclex-rn?
Well, I officially am an RN, got my license # today. Woo hoo! As far as studying goes... I know I'm not allowed to say anything so I'll just say this... You'd have to know every disease, every complication of those diseases/ailments/injuries and who would need you the most if they had to pee. lol all I used to study was the saunders cd that came with the book. I got 65-68% on everything except when I did the prioritization questions I got a 12%. That is where reading a kaplan "how-to" on answering the questions comes in handy, which I read out of a friends book on the way to take the test. Just read the rationales of the questions. Don't try to figure out all the stuff you don't know cuz you're not gonna remember it all anyway. The brochure doesn't lie... It is a minimum!!! Competensy test. And to answer your question on why I thought I failed... Because you just can't be sure of one single thing!! It's scary, but 2 hours after the test, just do the Pearson vue trick. It works! Moderator--- if I said anything "not allowed" please delete :) Don't worry, just do 1-2000 ?'s and go in there expecting that no matter what you thought, you too will be sure you failed until you check and see that you passed, just like 95% of the people that take it. :). Good luck!

67% on every 'practice' test...will I pass nclex-rn?
Thanks for the vote of confidence! I am a VERY fast test taker, so timing will certainly not be an issue, but AARRRGGHHHHHH:banghead:... I've never been stressed out about a test before! ...I take the test tomorrow at 2, so I shall keep ya posted! side note-- I just love all of you allnurses.com'ers!!! This site has been the biggest blessing the last 4 years!

Is there a 'trick' to the prioritizing questions and delegation questions?
I'm terrified of these 2 types of questions...I've heard horror stories of people getting 20 or more of this type and I can't seem to figure it out. I know the obvious, LPN's can't do IV push and CNA's can't do anything nursing related, but the less obvious one's I'm having trouble with. Any tips??

67% on every 'practice' test...will I pass nclex-rn?
Every time I take a practice test (even all the ATI tests and everything through nursing school) I get a 67%. I have the Saunders practice test, ATI, a couple online things...EVERY TIME. I did take the NCLEX predictor that said I had a 90% chance of passing on the first attempt, but no matter how much I study, it's always the same 67%. (fyi-I made A's and a couple B's all the way through nursing school) So, how did everyone do on these practice tests and how did that correlate with passing/failing the NCLEX?

Still no ATT. Did I do something wrong?
20 years ago I had a barber license with my maiden name on it. I kept calling the state board and they kept saying that "we send the letters out randomly, not in the order they are turned in" btw, I took my stuff down there the day our school turned in the paperwork... everyone already had theirs and still none for me... long story short, I convinced them to look mine up, I needed to turn in a marriage certificate, divorce decree and a notarized letter stating my reason for not changing my name back to my maiden name after getting divorced. YEAH.... I was ready to lose it on someone!! But I got my ATT the day after doing all of that!

what is the difference between a JP drain and a Hemovac drain?
I can't seem to find the difference between the JP and hemovac. They both look to work with basic pressure suction...but I'm not sure if I'm reading that correctly. I have yet to see either in real life, so I was just wondering because they will both be on my test tomorrow. thanks!
