Ivy Tech Thread

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

She finally got a hold of her, she had her down for a B in anatomy, that still wouldn't take her to 185 points but oh well. It is straightened out now. She told her the cutoff was still 190 but not to tell anyone. Well then my uncle went to see her later that same day and she told him he was in but the cuttoff was 200. He said she was really stressed out and was working on the letters. She did not give him any idea when to expect them so I guess I will just have to wait and see. Anyways I have 211 points so it looks like I should be in the program then but I won't believe it until I have the letter in my hand.

That's a pretty big difference in points. They have screwed up somewhere. I would tell her not to call, but physically go into the office and ask to see the papers. She should also go to the ATI website and print off a copy of her scores and print a copy of her transcript to take in with her. Maybe they have mixed up her papers with someone elses.

I still haven't heard anything from the two campuses I applied at (Valpo and Gary). I called the Gary campus the other day and they said they are not sending out the letters until the END of the June. I understand that they have a lot going on, but I'm starting to stress because I hate not being able to plan ahead!

those are the 2 that I applied to also, However Valpo sent their letters out over a week ago. We acctually have our orientation meeting on june 18th. You really need to call them and talk to the nursing director because Ive heard a few people who did not get a letter and one of which when she called she found out she did get in. Well Good Luck..:yeah:

Wow, it seems like Muncie has the latest orientation. Gah! I hate waiting. So, how do you guys plan on paying for all of this? I'm really stressed out about not being able to work during clinicals and going broke. I was thinking of signing on with a hospital if they would pay for everything but I was also wondering if anyone had info on nursing externships.

I am going to apply for the Indiana Nursing scholarship for now, and I'm seriously considering applying to Clarian's SNE program after 1st semester. That will give me good experience, I hope. I figure all it can do is help so why not.

I dont work anyways, however we live paycheck to paycheck like everyone else. I took a loan out of my husbands 401k in order to pay for all the stuff we need before we start the program.. I was getting too stressed out about it. I also applied for the Indiana state scholarship, where you have to work two years after here in Indiana, but it goes by income also so im not holding my breath. heres a link for info. on indianas stuff http://www.in.gov/ssaci/

WhoooHooo!! I got in the ASN at Richmond. Just got my letter today!!!

That's a pretty good idea about the 401k. Unfortunately, I'm only 20 and have no 401k. I looked into that scholarship but the deadline was yesterday, I think. I can't believe I missed it by a day!

But yeah I live paycheck to paycheck too. I live with my mom but she barely has enough to pay the bills. There is no way I could make it without my salary now (which isn't a whole lot). Ahh. I guess I just have to tell myself if there's a will there's a way and hope that proves true. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one out there going through this but it's also kind of depressing.
