Ivy Tech Thread

First I want to join Indy in hoping you all in the south are safe and dry. It is just heartbreaking seeing all of the destruction from the floods. I hope that everyone here has avoided any of it. Those who are dealing with it my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I went to the school today and turned in my scholarship apps. I talked to fin. aid and feel like I got a lot of answers to my questions. I won't know for sure how much I am getting in grants, but she estimated with my EFC it should be around 1400. I will have to wait until the end of June or beginning of July before notification. I also inquired about loans because I have not had to go that route before. I have not decided exactly what I am doing with all of that yet. But, I'm going to go ahead and apply when I am able to. They still have summer apps up on the website, so she told me to apply as soon as the fall comes online.

I am kind of at a loss as to what to do until orientation on July 21 because I have no idea how many credits I'm taking until then. Gosh, I wish it was August and I had everything ready to go.

I go get some more shots tomorrow. YAY! Not! I still have a knot on my arm from the tetorifice from over 2 weeks ago!

I also completed my CPR/AED training yesterday. It was a piece of cake!

What has everyone else been up to?

Still no letter from Ivy Tech in Terre Haute. Anybody else receive theirs from that campus yet?

I got my shots Monday and am really sick now. My arm is hurting so bad from the tetorifice and I have been throwing up all morning. Hopefully, it's not an allergic reaction or anything. They wouldn't give me my chickenpox vaccine because I had it when I was 2 but I can't afford a titer, so not I'm at a loss of what to do. :banghead:

I'm taking my CPR class next Tuesday. I'm excited!!

Anywho, I'm glad you are getting the grants. That is great! I don't qualify for anything.

No I haven't. I emailed the school again just to check up on it. Soon as I hear something I will post it on here. I wouldn't think it would take so long for the mail to get here. I live in Greencastle area so I wouldn't think it would be long from Terre Haute. ARRGGHHH!!!

I MADE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I called the school after receiving an awful email that i hadn' made it. I had a different score than what she said....she said the lowest points so far for terre haute was 195 so far. After a conversation over phone, we figured out the miscalculation. So I am definitely IN now! so Thank god... tried to call family and nobody is answering... SO i am sharing my extreme happiness with all of u! This shows that it is important to stay on top of this! God bless all! Hope all others receive the same great news as me.

So I just talked to Financial Aid at Lawrence. I wanted to find out if financial aid would cover this $80 fee we have to pay to the SNA at our Orientation on the 26th. She said financial aid won't cover that and it will be out of pocket. Awards for Fall won't even be issued until late July so I'll probably have to pay out of pocket for uniforms and all that too. Frustrating!!!

Hello everyone! This is my first post! I just discovered this website and was amazed at all the info sharing! I have been accepted to the Indy/Lawrence ASN program for the Fall. I'm soooo excited!!!
