I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?
In the Terre Haute letter it said nothing about an $80. fee. What was that for? Our orientation is the 15th of July. Hmm...we even know the color of our scrubs! Much better looking than Bloomington! They also suggested a local hospital for CPR certification. It is cheaper than the Red Cross...they give Ivy Tech students a discount.
mkmm what do your scrubs look like?
My letter does not say $80 it just says all fees must be paid by August 18th.
It is surprising how much things vary from campus to campus.
Pink I hope your letter comes soon, It's awful how long you guys have to wait.
I feel fortunate that my campus was one that had early letters out. I could not imagine having to wait as long as you girls are.
Kudos for hanging in there and not losing it
The scrub tops and lab coat are spring green with white trim and we have to buy those from Nanco. The pants we can buy anywhere are to be white (just not cargo style or cuffed). We also have to have tan or white polos and navy pants for some clinicals, but not until I believe the third semester. It seems for Terre Haute campus more medical supplies are required also. I suppose color selections vary due to hospital requirements where the campuses are at.
Our letter (Richmond campus) didn't say anything specifically about fees to be paid at any time that I recall (but I'm on vacation right now in Orlando so I can't check). I hope everything can come out of my financial aid, or I'm gonna be in real trouble.
We did have to buy scrub outfits from the bookstore, but the bookstore has now been bought out and is being operated by an independent entity. I wonder if that will change anything...
It depends on the program, but in Logan and I heard from others on here about other prgrams doing this too, I finished prereqs in May 08 and was accepted to Fall 08 RN program. Our chair held our apps until final grades were in then made the decision. The letters were not supposed to go until May 30 and classes were finsished early May. She said they only do it for fall acceptance because of the Summer semester falling in between allows them more time.
You should speak to the chair at the campus you are interested in to find out if they do this.
Does anyone know if Indianapolis or Greencastle are like this? Or any that are or aren't? It might be the only thing saving me!
Can anyone tell me what your Ivy Tech schedule is like for just the nursing classes? If/when I get accepted I will already have all of the co requisites. I have NO idea what a weekly schedule is going to be like though. Days of the week, hours, etc. Help? Just trying to figure out if having a young child and going to nursing school is feasible! Are any of their classes online? I know a few of the IUPUI nursing classes were, but I wasn't sure about ivy tech. Thanks (again!)
Ivy Tech's schedule is online. (Indy)
If you log into campus connect, you can do a course search. Our first semester will be Fundamentals, Pharmacology, and Med Surg I.
I think that's all anyhow...I don't have the papers in front of me. You can get the main idea of times and such from the website. I'm hearing that we don't get to choose our schedule, but we have to take what they give us. Yikes!! We are supposed to register for classes at our orientation on Thursday.

Stupid moment... I guess I just wasn't sure what was what and how they actually fit into the schedule! It's overwhelming when you have no idea what you're looking at!
