Ivy Tech Thread

I beefed up my summer course load and plan to take MAT 118, COM 102, and IVY 104, all online. Anyone else taking these?

I was talking to my husband about this and really the only time that the deadline would come into play would be if you were like the 60th vs 61st person and tied, right? I am done worrying about it. I've done all I can do, 3 A's, an A so far in 102, and a good TEAS with one more try on Monday. Can't do anything else. All there is to do now is wait and worry!

I think you'll will have no problem getting into the program!

Thank you, I hope not!!

I am trying to decide which Micro to take. I am signed up for both and need to drop one. Which do you think would be easier Microbiology I - BIOL 211 which is 3 credit hr class and I have to go 2 nights a weeks from 4 -8 or the online 4 hr credit class General Microbiology I (mostly on-line; 1 on-campus lab) - BIOL 201

I only have to go one Saturday to a lab. I guess I'm nervous to take an online class, I've never done it before. I am also signed up for the online chemistry. I just hope in the summer this will not be too much. I want to get the pre-reqs out of the way before I hope God willing get in the program this fall.

all4Him,

I'm taking the online Micro you talked about as well as online chem. I just thought I would get burned out going to class two nights a week for such a long time each day and resent the time away from my family. I've heard the online chem class is super, super easy. Haven't heard anything about Micro but just remember, you can do anything you set your mind to!!

Specializes in TBD.

I took the online Chem. Great class, I learned a lot, and it really was pretty easy. He didn't try to cram a whole book at you in one semester. For some of you just starting, it is a class that can help gain some points on the TEAS test too, as there are some chemistry questions on it.

Thanks for the info!

Anyone else having trouble with Blackboard? I've been on it all night but all of sudden, started having trouble. When I clicked on my courses, the page was just white (blank). Now, I if I try to go to Blackboard my computer security tells me that the site's security certificate is not valid. ????? I know they are doing maintenance on Campus Connect right now but BB was supposed to be still available. Anyone know anything?

It is because of the maintenance. It isn't uncommon for them to not "plan" on CC being down, but it goes down anyway. Last summer it was out for almost a week in some parts I think! Any time they have a not-so- routine maintenance, I plan for the worst and hope for the best and this is one of those "worst" times. Just have to wait it out.

I know they had a message up saying it was going to be down april 3-6. not sure if it is down entirely over those days. or a few hours of each day. I forget what it said exactly.

I can get into Blackboard with no problem. I think it was Campus Connect that is down over the weekend. I have had a problem like that before, csab, and I closed my browser, restarted the computer, and came back and it worked fine. Hope you can get it working again.

I bookmarked Blackboard directly, it's much easier - https://dl.ivytech.edu/webapps/portal/frameset.jsp
