hello everyone!

i just wanted to say hi! i am new here. i have read all the posts on this thread and found out many things that have helped me to be prepared for the journey ahead of me. i am taking a&p 101, psych 101, english 111, & math 118 in the fall. i hope to be able to take a&p 102 in the spring so that i can apply to nursing school for fall 2010. i do need to take the teas test which i am terrified of. anyway, i am a mother of three and hoping to go to indy/lawrence for school.

thank you guys for all the valuable information. i love how suportive everyone is one here. i hope there will be more discussion soon.

Jenn, You are on the right track. I am just finishing up my first semester in nursing school, and it is good. A great staff, tough at times, but it will be worth it in the end. Go for those A's, the teas test will be easy in comparison.

Thank you for the welcome

I'm new here too, and I have also been reading many of the post finding lots of great info. I am starting Ivy Tech this summer. I am hoping to be able to apply for the nursing program in fall 2010. I am a mom of 4 kids, ages 16,10,2 and 1. I'm not quite sure how I will do it all, but I figure where there is a will there is a way :). Besides worrying about finding time to study, I am still trying to figure out who will watch my 2 little ones while I attend this Fall. I suppose it will all work out in the end. I need to go for it now :), I'm not getting any younger ;).

Welcome Angelharts. You might look into online courses for your prerequisites. That could help with your time management. I did all mine online, and it worked out good. It's not for everyone though. Good luck.

Ilovemywife, so how do you feel about the fact that you took all pre- and co-reqs online? Was it hard to then jump right into face to face nursing classes? I am going to be taking most if not all of my pre- and co-reqs online as well but I have wondered how it will be to then have to transition to face to face nursing classes.

I am actually taking most of my pre req's and co req's online. This summer is Math 050, English 111, and Pysc online. In the fall I plan to take A&P 1 & 2 on campus. I was afraid with them being cram course, it might be too difficult to take online. I will take a persuasive writting and public speaking online though this fall.

I took all pre and co reqs online except ANP 101 and 102. I had great experience with online courses. I think the most important thing is to be a conscientious, organized, and proactive student and you will do just fine.
