Ivy Tech Fall 2017 Hopefuls

Published

Is there anyone else out there, or is it just me? :)

I'd love to connect with others who are applying for the Fall 2017 nursing program.

I am signed up to complete my prerequisites in the spring. English and Public Speaking are already done with an A, from a prior degree with Ivy Tech. They are also going to waive the IVY112 class because I am an Ivy Tech grad.

So I am signed up for APHY101, MATH123, PSYC101, and SOC111.

On one hand, I can't wait for classes to start! On the other hand, with the Holidays, I know the time is going to fly by.

I have the TEAS study guide from Amazon (ATI TEAS Secrets Study Guide: TEAS 6 Complete Study Manual, Full-Length Practice Tests, Review Video Tutorials for the Test of Essential Academic Skills, Sixth Edition: 9781516703838: Medicine & Health Science Books @ Amazon.com) and I am studying it and looking through the first practice test. So far, so good! Lots of info there to cover. Will keep me busy, for sure.

About me: My degree is in Business Administration and my work history is mostly in accounting, but I've been home with our 3 boys for the past 16 years. We have homeschooled for the past seven years. They all went to public school this year, and they are doing GREAT! Now I need a new direction, as well... I've got maybe 30 years of working ahead of me, and I want to have a solid career. I hated being stuck at a desk. Nursing ~ here we go!

This past fall, I found out a little after one week past the dead line. Maybe 2 weeks. I don't recall exactly. I'd contact someone if you don't hear after 2 weeks

Depending on which round you're chosen, as early as one week, as late as 4 weeks.

Aww thanks, guys! It feels good knowing I've got a decent shot. I won't be super heartbroken if I don't get in. It just gives me a bit more time to get some other classes out of the way!

Yeah, I know it's only been one day.. but I'm also impatiently awaiting an email!! :D

Welcome to the newcomers! Glad you stopped in. :)

Joining today! I was actually googling how long the application process takes and came across this group. My score is low so my fingers are crossed. I applied to the Fort Wayne campus. My advisors said the last 2 semesters she had scores around 120 get in. I am at 124 so I'm borderline.

It's true, it completely depends on the strength of the applicant pool. One semester, 124 can be a competitive score and the next the bottom dollar can be 134. Never know who is going to apply. Good luck to u.

The silence here is deafening, y'all. :)

Haha I was thinking the same yesterday actually. My anxiety is killing me over all of this. I keep just wishing they'd send those emails earlier. Especially since it's automated. I wonder why an automatic process would take so long...

Right? I just wanna know already!

Probably because people have been having problems with the online application. They might need time to sort through all the complaints.

Good point, I had that as a passing thought too but still extremely impatient haha. I'm hopeful it'll at least be early enough in the day that I won't have to wait anxiously. Hopefully someone will post on here when they hear back so I can check based on that!
