Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
Kgle, yep, my name's Tara. The TaraNator is a name that my husband calls me...especially when I'm all up in arms over something. ;-) What do you think of Tech Writing so far? We already had to do an interview and write a 250 document on it for the discussion board. Ugh...the reason I took online classes is so I wouldn't have to talk to anyone (lol) and now they are making me! ;-)
Emmi, I'm glad to see that you got things worked out! Part time is definitely better than no time!
bizandgray, I'm taking aphy102 f2f and so far it seems much easier that way compared to online. She even gives extra credit on quizzes, which is nice (and odd since I didn't think they could do that).
@DLC- I've been leafing through the book and the questions they ask just seem like basic simple questions! Watch that bite me in the butt once class starts
@Tara, same here :) However...I emailed someone on a local mom's website and had her email me back with answers! I have a feeling this will be a ton of work! My teacher seems like sort of a nazi though...I have a feeling I won't like her much!
i had tech. writing last semester.
it honestly wasn't that bad of a course.
those 150 word replies do get annoying though :)
but get this...in tech writing our professor did not grade ANYTHING. he ended up getting removed from the class and others had to come in and grade our stuff. they gave us placeholder 'c' grades until they were finished grading. we still don't have the final grade!

You took 101 in 8 wks, correct? So 102 in the summer would be set up very similar to that, syllabus/timeframe-wise. Pretty much 2 chapters/labs/quizzes a week, and exams about every other week. I took it in the one 10-wk section that was offered online so my class was a tad bit less intense than an 8 wk section. Are you going to take 102 in person or online?
