Hi everyone! I wanted to start a thread for those of us planning on applying by April 1st....
Has anyone taken the TEAS yet? Where are you with your pre-reqs? What campus are you applying to?
I am planning on taking the TEAS in December, so I have enough time to retake it :) and this is my first semester at Ivy Tech. I'm taking APHY 101, ENGL 111, and PSYC 101 all this semester and I will complete APHY 102 next semester. I am planning on applying to Indy.
And good luck to all the Spring 2010 applicants! :yeah:Hope everyone gets in!!!
I too tech writing last semester online. It was okay. I have a habit of spending way more time on those kinds of assignments than I should (put more effort into it than I needed to LOL). I actually decided to keep my book from that class because I thought it would be a pretty good reference to have down the line.
Hey guys--I'm Jenny and am so glad to have stumbled across this site. I was getting so stressed out about the TEAS test--I've failed each science section in the study guide..really really stressing me out. But anyways, reading some of the posts on this site calmed my nerves a little bit. I'm planning on taking the TEAS on Monday to ensure enough time for retake if necessary.
I'm going to be applying both in Anderson campus and the Indianapolis campus by April. I need to attend a nursing info session for the Anderson campus still. ( I wish one was good for all campuses!)
I am only taking Anatomy and Physiology 102 this semester but all my prereqs are done besides Tech Writing and Microbiology.
Anyways--I've enjoyed reading the posts on this thread and I'm hoping to get to know some of you! :) feel free to private message me.
Welcome Jenny! I will be applying at the same campuses as you, plus a couple others! You'll do fine on the TEAS :) I bombed the science section on the practice and did decently on the real thing. I had an overall 85% on the TEAS with hardly any studying!
Good luck in 102! I made it through last semester with a B, so I'm retaking 101 in hopes of pulling my B to an A so I can actually get into nursing school!
kgle-
thanks for the welcome. I thought in my mind i had already replied to this--but nope that wasn't the case! Haha.
I purchased the practice TEAS test online and within 6 minutes of starting it I had a full blown panic attack. It was horrible--I felt like I couldn't breathe. I haven't had any anxiety issues like that for years. I just want to go and take it so if I dont like my score I can retake it in time for the application to be in.
Thanks for the good luck in 102--that's scaring me!! I really dont want to retake it. I bet you'll get an easy A the second time around.
I'm going to be applying to Kokomo, Anderson and the Indy (hopefully one of them take me!). I just hate that you have to go to each nursing info session. My bosses are really cool--but I hate asking for so many days off. I am unsure of how far Columbus is from me--so I dont know if I'll end up applying there.
I'm just worried about the Teas, but I'll make it through! I am glad this site is here--kind of eases my stress!
LOL, I posted this on the Spring 10 thread by mistake. Anyway....
I had my first lecture exam in aphy102 and I made a 93, woohoo! I had hoped to do better, but at least it's an A. ;-) This coming week we have our first lab exam and I'm a little nervous about that. We have to know all the veins/arteries, etc on the half man and the weird baby models. I think I've got the heart down pat, but I'm a little worried about the other two. Also, we'll have to be able to identify cells in the microscope, etc. I don't think that will be too bad.
All my other classes are going well except for Chemistry. It's kicking my butt! But, the instructor says we're pretty much out of the math section, so hopefully I can bring my grade back up to an A (it's a B at the moment).
How's everyone else doing?

Wow!! That's crazy! There are certainly some pretty terrible instructors for some of these classes.
I don't mind the class. I think it will help me out in the end with things I need to know the format for anyway (like emails, resumes, etc). Hopefully it can really help me to spruce up my resume!
