This will be fun to hear everyone's responses! This could be a really good conversation for sharing your favorite nursing items or tools!
Could be funny, serious, just have a good time!
Who's gonna be first?
what items could you not go a nursing shift without?
I love these and have one on my lanyard for signing transdermals, &c.
scope
shears
highlighter
two pens in different colors
pencil
kelly clamp with two rolls of tape clamped to my hem
LOTION
camel bak in the break room so I can guzzle water
monies for lunch/caffeine/whatever if I need it
alcohol wipes and flushes and a couple 2x2s for unexpected IV d/cs
If I walk out the door to head in and do not have coffee in hand, steth around my neck, trauma shears and tape attached to me by hemostat, and chapstick, pen, and small notepad in my pocket, I feel like something is wrong with the force.
Once I get to work, add some saline flushes, alcohol swabs, and tele prints to the other pocket, and I'm ready to go

My pockets contain - penlight, dry erase marker, shears, hemostat, alcohol wipes, flushes, one yellow higlighter, at least two black pens, and several blue caps for my intermittent lines... a roll of tape is on my ID badge holder.
Steth too, of course, but I usually hang it on my computer once my assessments are done.
