I ve been told by a classmate that BSN grads in NY don't have to take the LPN exam in order to get the license, this could help me financially until I pass the nclex.

Any questions regarding licensure can be cleared up by referring to the appropriate website for one's state Board or by contacting someone at that Board. This rumor sounds too good to be true and you know what they say when it sounds too good to be true. No state is going to allow anyone to practice nursing without having passed a licensing examination. Just ain't gonna happen.

Riverhopper, your classmate gave you the wrong information. Things are not so easy as she say.

In NY, RN students are not allowed to sit for the LPN boards anymore, this law was passed two years ago. To take the LPN boards you must have gone through a LPN program.
