Why can't nursing education tell us the right information in the first place on new policies? We have a new lab draw policy and I have been told three different things about when it starts, such as, it starts soon, it starts now, and please wait until 6/1. Make up your minds and make sure lab staff are on the same page as well.

Why is this so hard? Really why?

On our system all users need to be entered into the system and have their ID badge barcode linked to the tests they preform. I'm sure it's too time consuming to do this for all students that rotate through for a few weeks.

This is why.

While in normal cases that would make complete sense, but I go to a hospital based program and we have hospital issued ID badges, that scan everything else. When do 90% of our Clinicals in our schools hospital.

Lol I only provided such specific details because more than one person addressed my concern.

Not job related, but what puzzles me is where is the OP? Why do people start threads and never come back and participate in them?

She's probably that Alexandra Robbins person who decided to tell the world how nurses are all victims in her last book. Doing research for her next book.

If you work at my facility, it's because the second day called out doesn't count as a second occurrence, but e third day buys you a trip to the MD to get a note saying you're cleared to come back.

Now that you mention it. I am puzzled by why I am still reading this thread ;-)

Why do I have to sign in, and use my fingerprint?

Seems unlikely I would send my finger to work without me so somebody could sign me n a few minutes early. And if I did, I could just give them my user name.

I think the hospital can assume that if I put my finger on a print sensor, that I am, in fact, there.
