Irritating Classmates

I know we've all seen the threads about those classmates that makes us want to stick a knife in our head, but I'm at wits end at this point. We're only halfway through the program, but the amount of noise, drama, and childishness from some of them is giving me headaches.

There's the girl that has a question every three minutes who also has the family member who has had every known disease. She's also the one who has always says, "Ok, I thought the book said _________ so on the test what's the answer going to be?"

There are the two girls that think they're cool and in some kind of reality show but actually come across as spoiled, overly needy brats like the trash you'd see on Jersey Shore. They're the loud ones that always have to comment in manners such as "WOW, OMG, or WOAH." They actually say the letters O, M, G.

Finally, there's the girl who thinks we're all a close knit group who is seemingly unaware of the cliques and factions going on. She's our designated classleader who doesn't lead. I'm not sure why a school program needs a student leader, but that's an issue I can't change I suppose.

I've been yelled at, cursed out, spit on, and fought with, but the amount of drama that I mentioned above is far worse than anything I ever experienced from drunks and crackheads on the streets. I know people are diverse, but I can't even stand going to class anymore because it all needs to be reigned in.

They might not do it around you but don't disillusion yourself. They are going to do it, busy or not. Especially in nursing. And, what are you going to do with the patients who are like this? It seems that every patient knows a nurse and because they know a nurse, they automatically have all of their knowledge. There's no getting around patients or families like this. It's best just to smile and be on your way.

You're one of the careless people that talks too much aren't you?

Who cares about how patients act? You don't have to see them everyday.

The hubris in this thread is really amusing. Everyone's so sure that it's those other students who are so annoying....not anyone who is complaining in this thread of course.

The truth is likely that we all spend far to much time with our cohort, and likely everyone in the class has behaviors that someone else in the class finds annoying.

The choices are either get over it....or let it occupy your life.

It's been said that "getting over it" is difficult....I assert that it's as difficult as we choose to make it.

Can you at least show some sense of hygiene when you're in class? Coming in to class wearing Spongebob pajamas, slippers, or ultra tight pants with your thong hanging out is gross. Some of you guys reek of cigarette smoke (the ones who "advocate" good health for their patients are the most guilty) and constantly have that phelgmmy cough throughout class that annoys everyone else.

LOL. I have two girls in my class, and I swear to God, every time we meet in class they show up with pajamas, messy hair, and they always show up late. I don't know how their brain functions. They look and are filthy, and they also are the ones talking crap about other people lol. I would be depressed if I dressed like that and very uncomfortable. I can't study or do anything if my house, study desk, and everything else is not clean and organized. I love hygiene.

Good to know it's just them "talking about other people."

Pot, kettle?

I started the thread so I follow it and reply to it. Am I complaining? Yes, I indeed am. Call it an outlet.

What may be easy for you may be difficult for another and vice versa. We are all, most assuredly, not the same.

Gurlllllll I live in Trinidad and i have that same problem....i know how that headache feels....lmbo it happens to all of us.....ALL of us

LOL I have no superhuman powers, it's just a choice.

Everyone has behaviors that are annoying to somebody, we get over it...we move on. Life is short!

We know this, but the point of making the thread was to have fun griping about it. As you can see the people that have replied, with the exception of the Debbie Downers, have all had the same complaints. That suggests to me that there are two factions: 1) idiots and 2) the rest of us.

LOL For all we know there are folks in this thread complaining about others in this thread.

Wow, sounds like my class. We have SO MANY annoying people its really mind blowing. We've got the woman who has family members with every disease, the guy who talks about nothing but getting drunk every weekend, the witch who makes a smart *** comment any time anyone else answers a question correctly in class, the one who says that cardiovascular disease and diabetes is "nothing a little exercise won't cure" and anyone with an STD must be a whore, the LPN who thinks she hot stuff, and my favorite: the woman who knows absolutely nothing about health care but is in nursing school.

On our hospital tour, we heard things such as "What does ICU mean?" "What does ER stand for?" "You would never give a person with high blood sugar insulin, right?" "I've got a friend and she works at a hospital but she only works when they call her. That's so weird!"

I can go on... Unfortunately.

You're one of the careless people that talks too much aren't you?

Who cares about how patients act? You don't have to see them everyday.

Who cares how your classmates act? Is it really going to matter in a couple of years? You probably won't even remember their names. Why let it bother you so much?

As for being one of the careless people that talk too much...I guess that's a matter of perspective. But I'm fine with who I am and isn't that what truly matters at the end of the day?

Ughhhh can I start with that? I have a lady who is just like that she's much older and she knows it all. I'm not sure why she's even in my class really she should be teaching it because she is so smart and knows everything there is about nursing, it's amazing!!!

Okay really though this wonderous lady followed me through a whole bunch of my pre-req's and I show up for my first day of class and guess who???? The first day she was so quiet I thought, "Oh yahhh maybe she won't act like this no!" No way it only lasted taht one day :(

But I find this to be a more suitable topic for me: Irritating classmates/professors/everything.......

We have an older lady who works as a receptionist in a doctor's office so she knows it all. ALL. And if she doesn't know it, she waits for someone else to say it and then she literally echoes it like it was her original idea or whatever.

My INSTRUCTOR says "Oh em gee" ALL the time. :uhoh3::uhoh3::uhoh3:
