ipod touch applications for clinical

Which applications for iPod Touch do you use for clinical? Which are helpful? TIA!

I have Nursing Central. It has several components but I use Davis Drug Guide, the lab reference and Taber's.

I also have a free app called Med Calculations- it will do a quick BMI, GCS and so on.

Another important one for me is a metric system converter that includes farenheit to celsius.

Not for clinicals- but my new fav is NCLEX cards. It cost a few bucks and has about 4000 questions. I have become totally addicted to those crazy quizzes.

Skyscape has a ton of useful ones- check out their website. Drug guides, lab references, calculators, etc.

wait to download anything from skyscape if you are not in NS school yet. a lot of nursing schools will offer you a discount on these apps when you are accepted... if you are already in clinical, ask your school if they offer these discounts!

but yeah, i use the drug guide and tabers from skyscape, i also have a free ABG calc, med calc, a couple anatomy quizzes, the ati nclex review app, and a flash card app...

I have nuring central from unbound. I use Davis's drug guide everyday at clinicals, tabers is great and I do use Diseases and Disorders a quite a bit. It's way better then bringing a bunch of books to clinicals.

oh and I forgot. RN notes has been handy for looking up the steps to a procedure when you need your memory refreshed.

I used Skyscape for Davis' Drug Guide. Our school required that we buy it and RN Diseases and a lab values program. When my Palm Pilot died after 3rd semester and I replaced it with the Touch, I only bought Davis through Skyscape. I found that Googleing lab values or diseases gave me way more information than the required software.

I have to agree I use nursing central because it was required for my school and I love it. It allows you to reference multiple books in the palm of your hand.

My school doesn't offer any kind of package. :/

Do Nursing Central and Skyscape update every year, or do you keep paying each year?

These cards are soo addicting!! Good practice on my free time :-)

lab values

medical dictionary

nurse's pocket drug guide

**Merk Manual** one of my favorites!!

Also apps not for clinical are vol 1-5 saunders NCLEX q&A

If only! My program does not allow any type of electronic gadgets, they are very strict, it's a shame.

Nursing central and Skyscape require you to renew every year. But Nurs Cent allows you to keep already downloaded content after your year is up.

Skyscape deletes everything if you don't renew.
