Hello from Western PA. I work in small community hospital as a Quality and Education Coodinator. I oversee orientation of new staff member of all disciplines and am currently helping prepare everyone for JCAHO visit next year. I have been in nursing 22yrs mostly open heart and cath lab. Nursing has served me well over the years especially while raising my 3 children. I am very proud of our profession.

I would love to hear from anyone who has done preparation for JCAHO as this is my first experience other than as a staff nurse.

Took a long break from nursing, returned a few months ago refreshed and rearing to go. RN for 20 years, LPN before that. Grew up in Pittsburgh, currently live in burbs. Long time member of this board thru thick and thin.

PA nurses rock!!!

I live in Philly, I'm originally from York, and I finish up with my BSN in three weeks and am going to be working in a medical/resp. ICU. Hope to go to CRNA school in a few years.

Nursing student living in the Philly burbs (lovely Narberth). Grateful for this bulletin board b/c the experienced nurses here have been so kind to us enthusiastic newbies. Haven't narrowed down to a specialty yet. While ER nursing sounds great, OR, CCU, Med-Surg, etc., etc. sound good too.

Hi! I live in little Adams County and work in York County at a small hospital. I do Ob. Overall, I love it though of course there are ups and downs. I am hooked on the Ob forum. I am 38 years old and have 3 daughters. I am thinking about a master's program in ob or nursing ed. I'd like to hear anyone's thoughts about/experiences with online programs or York College. Glad to meet you all.
