Does anyone know or can enlighten me!!! Thanks

Hi all :typing

Thanks for the info on the vaccines.

I am glad someone asked if you are interviewed as a family I also was wondering about that.

I have our relatives arriving from Los Angeles on sunday, we are hoping that it's the last time they get to stay with us in the UK. Looking forward to twice weekly instead of twice yearly get together in the sunny climes of LA :w00t:ukrn2ca

I appreciate that everyone's experiences are different, but approximately how long do you have to wait to get SS nos. & green cards once in the US?

YOu get your passport stamped etc from the Embassy - this is why they take your passports off you and mail them back to you. This is good for one year...your Green Cards can take from a few weeks to a few months to get to you in the USA. Ours took about 3 weeks,(although we are waiting for a new one for my Eldest son as they spelt his name wrong and this has taken months!)

As regards to your SSN...the day after we landed we went to our local Social Security Office and they gave us a receipt which had our SSN on it...this was good enough for my Employer to help get my Nursing License (in Florida). You get your actual card within 2-4 weeks. We got ours 2 weeks later....but if anyone asked us for our number we were able to quote it from the reciept we had been given.

Hope that helps

NCLEX results are 100% dependent upon the state that you took them for, nothing at all to do with your agency. Nothing at all to do with where you took them, or for whom you will be working. Strictly based on the state.

Thanks for that Sue. My daughter will come out with us initially but will have to return to go back to uni in Oct. Will she have to wait for green card or can she return to the UK with her passport stamped? She can't afford to miss time off her last year. Wondered if you knew (or anybody else!) anything about this as it is a bit of a worry. We hope we will be out there late Aug/Sept but don't know for sure.

As you can imagine we had problems with our green cards lol. It took 4 months to get mine, 5 months for dh to get his. 2 weeks for our son to get his.

My dd still hasnt got her green card after 6 months. But most will get theirs in about 3-4 weeks.

If your daughter returns to the Uk I believe she has to come to the US once a year or something like that.

I think your SSN is dependant on the state-we live in Phoenix and we went to the office filled in paperwork and had a chat with an official. We recieved our cards one week later, the paperwork they gave us in the office did not have the number on it.

Others waited upto 5 weeks for SSN, there appears to be no norm

Hi Suzanne

I have been reading through posts and noticed that people often refer to NVC-CP-GC Tracker, when keeping track of their progress, is this the same as my USCIS portfolio site? :uhoh3: if not how do I find the site to register do you know?

Kind regards. ukrn2ca
