Another nail in the coffin for nurses, makes me glad I am leaving just wish visas would start moving. After 20 years experience I am sure worth more than I am currently getting, just feels like a kick in the teeth :angryfire

Me too! It just sucks!! You know there's a thread in the general section asking if an RN would work for $11 per hour basic. Everyone's saying things like "no-way" etc etc. I just had to post that that is pretty much what every entry level nurse in the UK is working for!

So here's another prayer for the end of retrogression!

well, its the same old story

we get a rubbish deal because the government know they can get away with it simply because nurses never do anything when they are badly treated. I expect its the nurses fault that the NHS is in so much financial trouble because of the large wage bill generated by the NHS

What sort of government puts a higher value on paying for a war 1000's of miles away that appears to have acheived nothing, than the health care of its own people?

Roll on the next election, it will probably happen before retrogression gets lifted at this rate :(

That is an awful pay rise I imagine everybody is up in arms. What are the unions doing? Nothing???? as usual

The Unions are talking strike action & there was a march in London but with the NHS already on its knees I don't envisage much to be honest!

With the job freeze etc they are laughing at the moment. However, give it a little longer & they will be crying!

Did you know that one Trust actually had the cheek to ask all of it's employees to work for 1 shift free just to help it balance it's books & then the VERY NEXT WEEK was advertising a chief exec job in a 6 figure sum!!!!!

everyone go to the rcn website, they are doing a campaign. they generate a letter for you to email to your local mp's. you just fill in your details and the letter comes up ready to email. not sure how much good it'll do but i've signed up anway.

its just a continuing saga of nurses getting a raw deal.

compared to other choices of proffesions, we have always been the lowest paid.

Yes there was marches in quite a few places yesterday, London, Manchester to name a couple but still don't think it will help. Pat Hewitt recogns we have got a good deal, would love it for her to work on a general ward for a week and see what actually happens on the front line

You & me both!! However, like politicians the world over her nest is well & truly feathered! They're only interested in what they can get out of it for themselves, & from what I can see they've done very well on that score!

They can send their kids to the best schools, afford private healthcare, are exempt from the congestion charge, have well protected & very large pensions, have free housing in Lonodn if they need it & huge expense accounts. So why should they be bothered about us?

Just better hope they're not involved in a road accident & have to be admitted to an NHS hospital huh!!? "Oops - I'm sorry I used a white needle for your pethidine instead of the green one, silly me I'm so colour blind - oh well never mind, it'll only be a small bruise!!":lol2:

its pretty much par for the course......

AfC was dreadful (an excuse to regrade and downgrade...) now this is effectively a pay cut.. again!

the NHS is on its knees and its the fault of the greedy nurses who want to be paid a decent living wage (said very tongue in cheek)

patsy should come and work on the front line...

I am so tired telling patients 'sorry cant do that.... ' because of the restrictions on referrals etc..
