Another nail in the coffin for nurses, makes me glad I am leaving just wish visas would start moving. After 20 years experience I am sure worth more than I am currently getting, just feels like a kick in the teeth :angryfire

maybe we could start a range of pat acessoriesdart boards, printed toilet paper etc?
OOH wiping my butt on a politician's pic now there's a thought!
What about other such accessories - inco pads, tena pants & cardboard unrinals/bedpans - all delightfully decorated to show just what we think of how we're treated!!
Me too! It just sucks!! You know there's a thread in the general section asking if an RN would work for $11 per hour basic. Everyone's saying things like "no-way" etc etc. I just had to post that that is pretty much what every entry level nurse in the UK is working for!So here's another prayer for the end of retrogression!
using last years (2006- 2007) pay rates
entry level salary for band 5 staff is 19166 basic (i.e. excluding unsocial hours) this is for a 37.5 hour week
37.5 * 52 = 1950 hours
19166 /1950 = 9.83 gbp / hr approx
using the currency exchange rate thingy on google = 18.98 USD
EXCLUDING unsocial hours ... quite where you got that the entry levle RN in the UK is working for 11usd/ hour i don't kbow, given that those who work rotating shift patterns will average out at over 20 USD/ hour
top increment band 5 is 24803 gbp BASIC
24803 /1950 = 12.72 gbp and according to google 24.56 usd again excluding unsocial hours ...
i'm currently on 21985 (transitional point on band6) and despite not doing any nights for most of last year and working in a 12 hour shift environment where there is no unsocial hours on weekday day shifts will still have earned
about 25500 gbp come the end of the FY which according to google is 49245.60 usd ...
