  1. Hi, I have an interview for a band 6 next week and have to do a presentation. My title is Under the current financial restraints for the NHS what challenges do band 6's face in maintaining and delivering quality health care. I'm really not sure how to approach it I don't know what they will be expecting. I'd really appreciate your advice. Many thanks.
  2. hi i'm cheryl, training in liverpool.i'm in 2nd yr too. do you have some of your placements at hope?? i used to work there
  3. everyone go to the rcn website, they are doing a campaign. they generate a letter for you to email to your local mp's. you just fill in your details and the letter comes up ready to email. not sure how much good it'll do but i've signed up anway.
  4. Hi, some hospitals in oz have a graduate nurse program. you can go over as a new graduate and you do 12-18 months rotation and your preceptorship.
  5. Hi jonathan you need A'Levels or equivalent to do the degree but you only need 5 GCSE's above grade C (including maths, science and English) to do the diploma level. so it depends whether you want to do the degree or diploma.
  6. i feel more than bitter. its so frustrating that nurses have to take the fall for the nhs being in trouble. why don't they get rid of the managers earning 200,000+ who actually put the trusts in debt. it wasn't nurses fault but its nurses who suffer and the patients.
  7. i have a partner and a 7 year old daughter. it is possible to do both. not easy though but its worth it.
  8. i wouldn't mind a&e but i believe its hard to get a job there. is this true??
  9. trouble is you can't get on the bank without 6 months experience
  10. hi tonia i've sent you a private message. i had an interview at ljm in 2005

  12. i'm a 2nd year student and obviously all my cohort are worried about not being able to find a job when we finish. 1 of our tutors seems to be under the impression that there's gonna be huge numbers of retirement over the next 2 years- leaving the nhs short of nurses. has anyone else heard this?? or is she just tryin to make us feel better :chair:
  13. hey i wouldn't worry about it at all. just carry on the way you are. you're the type of nurse the patients will remember and feel grateful to, not her. i've no doubt they would trust someone like you far more. there's nothing wrong with being nice. its the nice ones who would do anything for their patients and care for them in the best way possible. don't change, its her that needs to.
  14. thanx for your advice. what are the promotion opportunities like for nurses?? do you have prescribers and practitioners like uk?
  15. i can't find out what the promotion scale is like. do they have nurse practitioners and prescribers?? is it same as here or completely different? cause the opportunities here in uk are good
