  1. yea this is a dead forum...good luck in your search..I saw that Truman had a new grad position. They seem to be very selective though in their process. What about centerpointe?
  2. did you ever find out? I will going to them tomorrow for the test process. Looks like I need to be doing homework tonight.
  3. Have you heard back from them? I am in a similar situation as you are. I have applied to numerous hospitals in the MO side and heard back from very few. FYI: I recently moved here from STL and have 3.5 years of experience. I dont understand the deal here.
  4. what kind of lawyer?
  5. I plan on showing my nurse manager the text message he sent me this morning when she gets to work. I am in just shock that this happend to me and I'm so angry. Thank you for support.
  6. I work on an oncology med floor and i give report starting with the patients name, attending doctor, admission date, age. then i go to diagnosis, history, allergies, if they are on any precautions ( fall, aspiration etc..) Iv site and it if it saline locked or if they have fluids left and how much is left in the bag. then i go to diet, activity( up ad lib, bedside commode, incontinent) any procedures that they have done, assessment ( a & o x3, clear lungs, positive bowels, last BM, skin integrity, any edema, pulses, ) any antibiotics they're on, urine color, if they receive NEBS, if the patient has issues swallowing pills, and other things like that. i give a long report but i think it's helpful that way. I
  7. I was called into the head nurses' office yesterday about an annonymous complaint made against me with JCAHO. I spoke with the nurse manager and she said that everything she had looked up was clear and they were sending back a clear record to state board and JCAHO. He has been threatening me for a long time and this is a huge deal. he is trying to make me lose my nursing license. Well tonight he sent me a text asking if I had heard from the boards which is proof that it was him. I have had no contact with him whatsoever. My next question is there anything I can do legally to him for doing this to me? I am afraid of him but this is not a joke. I mean to go after someone's license is just plain cruel. Any advice?
  8. it was a high flow nasal cannula. not a regular one.
  9. I had to write my first incident report yesterday and I'm pretty upset about it. Please let me know if I was in the wrong. My pt. was transferred to my floor from the ICU. ( oncology/med) floor. SHe was on 8 liters of 02 and was satting at 84%. During the day she was on 8 l and satting at 96%. She was on a high flow nasal cannula and I bumped up the 02 to 11 Liters. she then was satting at 92%. The doc came in the morning and saw that she was on 11Liters and was upset and wrote an order that an incident report needed to be filled out. I was the RN so of course I had to fill it out. Meanwhile this was at 0900. I had already worked my 12 hour night shift. I don't understand this. Where is nursing judgement? There was a respiratory therapist on the floor and I asked her to go and look and make sure everthing was okay and she said it was.. I am really upset by having to do this. I graudated in June so Im still very very new with my career. Anyone have any suggestions? Also on his orders was an order to do a chest x ray and also ABG' levels be drawn. She was in the ICU earlier for respiratory arrest. no history of COPD either. That is all there is to the story..does this make sense to anyone?
  10. While I was in school our sex life dwindled down to once a week and believe me I heard about it daily. My fiance eventually left me after almost 4 years together and almost immediately he found a 22 year old (10 years younger than himself). it's the biggest slap in the face. If I could go back I would have paid more attention to him but i thought he would be understanding. Wrong on my part!
  11. You're post was very encouraging. I start my RN job June 9th and am nervous about that first year. I'm glad to hear it's been a positive experience for you.
  12. I know that St. Lukes only hires techs that already work there in the Er or ICU but on the floors they hire from outside the facility. They only hire once a year in the ER and I think this year they had 2 positions. Not sure about ICU.
  13. I'm in St. Louis and they're calling for snow sunday PM. I can't believe it. I planted my flowers last weekend thinking the worst was over. Hopefully they can make it one more night.
  14. I work at St. lukes PRN and they only require that I put in 24 hours a month. They can be any day. As far as working there to get you in, that would probably be beneficial but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to get a job there after you graduate if you hadn't worked there.
