hi there

anyone know of any direct hire hospitals in USA anywhere:(

please post if you do:wink2:

Hello Letina,

I'm also interested in finding out which hospitals in Florida to apply to directly. I've just finished my BSc and would like to research the feasibility of working in Florida. I'm aware that many obstacles exist in the process. But, I'd be grateful if you would pm me with the details?

Many thanks,

Regards

Hi Silverdragon102,

Could you tell me what the present situation is with the Retrogression problem in the US to date in 2007?

plenty of information in the international forum on retrogression

direct hire is usually a 2 year contract offered by the hospital who will be interested in you, a good way to go if you can stand all the hassle of the paperwork. not all states are short of nurses. but you can make enquiries with any of them, as the majority would be interested especially if they think that you will stay with them.

Hi

Has anyone any contact information on hospitals who direct hire in Orlando Florida? Just completed my BSc intending to work this year and then apply

Thanks,

with retrogression I would suggest contacting hospitals in the areas of Florida you want to live, be aware many are not taking on foreign nurses until something happens with retrogression. Plus as it stands at the moment you are looking at a few years going through the process so may as well start now with your RN application and get CES done in case you are short on any hours

Florida Hospital is in Orlando - they recruit foreign nurses but are currently only interested in those with critical care/ICU experience. Try & get into that area once you qualify to maximise your chances. Check out the threads on retrogression etc though -you're in for a long haul I'm afraid!

Hi thre?

Has anyone become succesful here doing it alone even with the current retrogression?

Thanks

I am doing it with the aid of recruiter but started before retrogression started. There is a few others that have found direct hospitals since retrogression but are affected once I140 has been approved.

I'm one of the latter mentioned above! I got a direct hire position, no agency, no recruiter, just me and my audacious cold calling skills :wink2:. However, retrogression has halted me in my tracks.

I have called the hospital recently and was delighted because they said they'll wait for me for however long it takes. I count myself very lucky they haven't pulled out on me.

As I've said before you need to talk to the nurse recruiters/HR in the biggest hospitals in the area you want to work. Also have a look at what their current job vacancies are because that will guide you as to what your chances are. I could have filled 10 jobs on the just the first 2 pages of the hospital I called.

It is possible but with retrogression seemingly having no end in sight it's not easy. Good luck!
