I don't know much about the hospital neither the area where it is located because I am not from the area. I did a google search and nothing came out. Is it a safe area? I live in New jersey but I am relocating to NYC. I really appreciate any type of info. Thak you all!

Well, I have never had any experience with the hospital, but I know the area is not one of the best, especially if you are planning to work nights. You will have to keep your eyes and ears open when commuting to and from work, keep your street smarts about you. If you are not scared off by a more "ghetto" environment (I don't know where in NJ you live), then I would say see how the area is with your own eyes. You may not be bothered by the area. As far as the hospital itself, I have no info there. It never hurts to go on an interview, see how you like it.
Good Luck!
I went to school in Newark and I had clinical rotations at New Community Nursing Home, St Michaels hospital, St James hospital. They were all in newark, and oh boy, I got scared a few times. I had no choice then but to go to those places. What concerns me the most is that I am going out of options now. I've been spaming hospitals with my resume since January and the Lincoln hospital was the only one that called me for an interview. The truth is that I desperately need to work. Nobody here works there?

It is one of the busiest NYC hospitals, level one trauma, neighborhood is rough and very busy, close to many public transportaions. I believe you will learn a lot from this hospital as a new grad.
I will go for it.
Good luck to you.

Hello,
I personally don't know much about Lincoln Hospital but I do have a former classmate that works there after graduation before getting his RN license. The hospital lets him work without a license for at least 6-8 months b/c he told me the hospital is very desparate for any nurse and willing to take the risk. Eventually, he got it his license but not until many months later. Since he lives in the Bronx area, he was okay with the location of the hospital. Also, he's a guy and I guess they're more brave!
I think you should go for the interview and see if you feel comfortable with the hospital and the area. I too is a new grad with no experience and I just recently got hired at Winthrop, so I know exactly how you're feeling. If Long Island is not too far, try out Winthrop!
Good luck and keep up posted!

Sorry, I don't know anything about that hospital. But, I do have a question, how did you go about applying for a job there. I know it's apart of the HHC and I just can't seem to figure out how to apply for jobs within that network?

Here is a link. The hospital usually tells you in the details how you can apply:

The area is rough and is considered "the ghetto" or "the hood" but go and see for yourself. I take it that you will just be going from work to home and not hanging around there when you leave work, right? So please just take the other posters advice and be careful. Let us know what you decide. If I needed a job like you say you do, I would go for it. Best of luck!

I did clinicals there this semester, it was a great hospital part of NYC health and hospital, very busy ed, level 1 trauma, you will learn so much, the neighbor is the south bronx, its ghetto but I never had a problem, my daughter is a paramedic for the FDNY and Lincoln was her first station, so don't let the neighborhood or anyone scare you off, you will be a great nurse when your finished there.
Thanks everyone for all the answers and an special thanks to mb1949. It was a relief to hear something good from someone who actually had some experience with the place. I am definetely checking it out. I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

I have worked at various HHC hospitals within the city(Metro, Lincoln, Bellevue, Coney Island & Jacobi). Although my current home is at NYU, I never shy away from the potential of anything new.
That being said, Lincoln Hospital was pretty bad in my opinion. Here are the pros and cons as I see them..
First off, the pros:
